Yeah, not too happy with there trick...kind of funny it seems like they are pulling other mourning but just better organized. Wish they just wouldve said" hey guys the game isnt finsh maybe by apirl it will be but until then how about you play Beta...for free, but hurry and order the DNL keys before they are gone..." Doesnt make any sense........................

boy you guys will never be happy. They are going to let you play it for 6 months for free to see if you like it. And you guys still complain about it. Some people just like to complain I guess

thats without a doubt the dumbest move I've ever heard of in my life.. Why are they letting people play when they think it isnt even going to be ready for P2P until April. People are just going to run around trashing the game (and believe me theres a whole lot (or whole amount of nothing) to trash right now).

open betas are for 2 months before paid launch.. not 6 months before..

Maybe because it is not open beta....

They release another game based on a part of the world with partial released features called SoG. The closed beta for DnL continue and NDA kept. I would more call it an advanced open stress test.

Reason: They didnt want to make another delay and break a promise for a release 11/05. They delay relase but release something to keep people interested. SoG is not DnL we are not even sure the rules will be the same that will be used in DnL.

If they let people taste 6months of the game for free it means its enjoyable to play else no one would buy the retail product eventhough not much of the whole game is included in the prelude

I, for one, find the whole concept of a "prequel" intersting. I'm jazzed for this game, and this lets a good chunk of the DnL gaming community get a head start on the learning curve. If we like it, it also gives us time to recruit other potential customers for them. Consider it free advertising and an effort to take care of the customer. Wow, what a concept!

It will work for good publicity as long as SoG is of decent quality.

It looks like it was a case of A) do the SoG thing as a free beta to buy time release DnL in a state of quality that would ruin whatever chance it has of succeeding C) delay DnL again and risk losing the fan base it still has. Let's just all hope the beta leakers are not correct and SoG is good quality or at least passable and they can get DnL whipped into shape before April.

I think it is a great idea to offer it free first. This will allow people to check it out first and see if they like. Dark and Light have a lot of loyal followers.

Determined, yes. Too Stupid to realize people will play the game even if he does troll, yes.
I will add on that he is also too stupid to even understand basic knowledge of Dark and Light, and any other game for that matter. He keeps flaming, he has NO evidence of how it is, good or bad.
I'm glad to see that we are putting Turkeybound in his place, which is a dark hole filled with other trolls that will eat him. After eating him they will then eat each other until there is only one troll left and he will die of starvation and there will be no trolls left. ::::02::

It could easy be a problem but it is really not relevant to comment on errors in an product not released yet. Lets see for ourself when they let us play SoG and then start to complain when problem arrise.

I agree that there need to be some difference in range depend on weapon but it is often a problem with range calculation and size of monster and so on that need to be adjusted.

It is simply a problem with the distance you have to be and the size of the monster. Those of us that are "experienced" in DnL know what I am talking about. It is not an issue of them trying to make it realistic. I am not saying it was a valid error but, it shows that he is a tester or knows someone who is. By really close he means REALLY close.

But really it doesnt matter if he was or as he said saw DnL beta inside at a friend. I am not sure what you try to tell? Is it a problem that is impossible to correct? But anyway the one interested will be able to try it out in SoG ;-)

Can u please explain to us what NP3 changed...? As far as i know, or at least for the last 4 months the release date has been April 2006.

Or are you one the ill-informed that thought Nov 5th (instead of Nov 2005) was the release date ..? Np3 has said that a downloadable version of the game would be available in Nov/05. Nothing has changed.. or been announced differently that I know of.

But then again, MMORPG.com forums are full of people who half-invest in their game research or knowledge.
