Irth Online: For Some: No Monthly Fee Until 1/1/06

StraddenStradden Managing EditorMember CommonPosts: 6,696

Via their official website forums, the makers of Irth Online have announced that any player who signs up before November 15th will not be paying any monthly fees until the new year. Developers are citing in-game issues and the desire to please their community for this move:

Hail all;

We have talked this over in the office, and have come to the conclusion that we should change the starting of the monthly subscription.

Therefore Anyone who purchases or has purchased the game prior to 11/15/2005 will not pay a monthly subscription until 1/01/2006.

This is when the monthly charges will begin. Why you ask?

We feel that with the issues that have been apparent and reported in the game, that it is in the best interest of Magic Hat and the players to resolve every issue and insure people are happy to the point that they will enjoy their online gaming experience with Magic Hat.

The sales of Irth Online has met and exceeded our expectations, and this is because of the community. And we need to make sure that we always give back to the people that will make Irth Online great.

We are committed to give you the best online gaming experience we can.

Damian

This just means they should have Beta tested Longer. But instend the released an unfinished Product. Like Most other MMOs. SWG did it. . EQ did it. . So Irth desided it was ok.

They obviously ran out of money during beta, so decided to set a new record for worst MMO launch to date and get in some cash from the game sales. Then promise the players no charges so they can continue with what is essentially the beta still.

Admittedly they are an independent but doesn't mean they can screw players with crappy games.

at least they're offering this now, unlike SWG which has been FUBAR for years.

This is nothing more than a publicity stunt. They claim they met and exceeded game sales? Bullcrap. They are just trying to lure more gamers (and their money) into this mess they call Irth.

If they had actually exceeded their quota in sales, im sure they wouldn't need to go and do something like this. (MHS, not all of us are stupid)

Before I get flamed by the fanboy's...I don't say these things to bash the game really, I had hopes that this game would turn out decent at least, but MHS has failed to create anything even worth playing. Im very dissapointed.

This statement makes absolutely no sense! If sales are so incredible why would a company (particularly a tiny independent one) need to encourage more to sign up?

Obviously, they are hiding something. And they like to promote that they are for the community. What a load!

they were for community untill they desided to release the game when it could have used 6 months more in beta....they're just trying to keep those they have got to buy the game from cancelling untill they get their stuff together.

I feel Irth has made great strides in the past 6 months I've followed the game I feel it will do fine in the MMO market and let it be known its a crafter friendly game so those that hate the constant PvP or just level up to attack or tank X beast will find this to there liking along with the casual gamer compared to the Hard core 24/7 got nothing better to do gamer. Yes I bete tested Wish and Yes this game is very much like that in charachter build.
