It looks like it will run it to me. The thing is what do you mean by running it? You can turn the settings all the way down and I bet it would run on a pc with 1/2 of that.

I've got an AMD 3000XP, Nvidia 6800 Ultra, 2 Gig Ram, and I can run it on the highest settings until I go into a crowded area or in the cities. Then I have to turn it down to the middle setting. But they go way lower than that.

I mean "RUN" as In running good at medium settings with the X550 Ati Radeon PCI Express Graphic Card and 1.2g of ram!  I know that this game will have some slowdown, heck SWG had tons of slowdown but it really didn't effect gameplay!

You REALLY did not need to quote everything on your invoice. Here's the pertinent stuff:

    Athlon64 3000+
    1.2GB DDR400 PC3200
    Radeon X550 256MB

Judging from your poll, you're more interested in us appraising your computer rather than how well it can play EQ2. The processor and RAM are ok but you might want to upgrade that graphics card if you want to play EQ2 at any decent quality setting.

That's really not a bad deal.  It is fully assembled right?  I priced out the parts on pricewatch individually, and it totaled about 700.00.  So for the money not bad.

However, the graphics card is a $75 graphics card.  You could do much better for probably another 25-50 bucks.  Just my opinion.  Alot about gaming is actually enjoying what you are looking at.

    All that matters is:
    1) Processor speed
    2) RAM
    3) Video Card
    and a distant 4th:
    4) Audio Card

All the rest of the crap you posted is just "look how cool I am" crap.

Let us know how it holds up over the next few months. I priced out 'average' parts that meet those specs and came up with about $650 for the same system. I really hope they're not using refurbs to make it. If the system is solid and holds up over the first 6 months you got it for a great price.

(Generally I've found that if a PC is gonna break it does it in the first 6 months)

Actually, it's a copy of his invoice. The format is unmistakeable, especially all the stuff that has [NONE] after it.

I checked up on the prices too. I could build the same system for about the same amount of cash (maybe a bit cheaper depending on eBay deals). The company who built it is either buying OEM parts or buying them in huge quantities in order to cut costs and earn money.

    Hmm true
But why post the whole invoice. Just give us the CPU RAM Video and Audio. The rest is useless in evaluating MMORPG performance. Even HD Speed isn't all that important

NVM these ne'erdowells. They are all hella jealous that your budget computer rocks on the one they paid 7k for. Yes your computer will be just fine, I would upgrade the video card but you can wait a year for that.

Thanks for all of the replies.. I didn't want to impress or show off my computer specs, I just wanted to know if this game would play good on it.  I posted my whole invoice because I haven't ever customized a PC before or have I bought myself one before.. I've been playing console games for awhile now, but I might switch over!

Actually I ran EQ2 with similar settings and the zoning was a show stopper for me.

Ppl say that with 2gb zoning becomes a non issue.

I hope you're just exaggerating when you say $7000. Not even buying all the top-of-the-line parts would cost that much.

His computer setup is good for the price. It would be considered slightly below midrange except for that graphics card. That graphics card needs to be upgraded ASAP though. You'll BARELY be able to play any of the current games and be hard-pressed to crank up the detail level in older games.

Here's a review of the card's framerates in some popular FPS'es.

    http://www.trustedreviews.com/article.aspx?head=15&page=4148

As you can see, Half-Life 2's framerates are barely playable at 1280x1024 (most LCDs run this as their native resolution) and Doom 3 is pretty much unplayable at 15 FPS. If it has trouble running these games at good framerates, you can forget about playing EQ2 at any graphics settings above "Extreme Performance".
