first off your grammer is pretty bad dude it almost makes your post unintelligible i would try to correct taht as a friendly warning.

but just grow some confidence and confront whatever issue it is that is making you lose confidence.

and example is a bully, take care of them, if you have overbearing parents learn to deal with them better.

Nervousness in front of peers is usually related to one specific incident ot issue in your past or present deal with it and you get your confidence back.

Well dont worry about what others think. I mean what do you think tehy are thinking about you? Il tell you what they are thinking its the same thing you where, they are all nervous just like you so they arn't really trying to judge you they are thinking over what they are going to do.

Walk up to the front with convindence keep telling yourself that its going to be fine and your goign to have fun doing it. When your presenting just present the project and dont think about what they are thining. Keep a calm voice and just at least act very confident and after this happens one or two times it will become easyer and easyer.

Dont worry about it everyones nervous about gettting up and presenting!

I could always do all my speaches easilly right befor this one!!! for some reason i could not do it and i had to have the class leave.

every body has to be tought (sp?) arg how to be good at oral just takes a good teacher to help you work out the kinks. once you get over the hump and learn how to give a good oral report it will change your life trust me. ask your teach any questions you have on how you could do better.::::20::::::28::

In response to the original poster...

I used to get nervous, but the key I have found is to throw some humor into your speech.

Most speeches start with an attention getter -- use this as an opputunity to break the ice, then everything will be much easier. I throw in some dry humor throughout the presentation and it keeps the atmosphere pretty laid back.

    Good luck.

When I was in School way back in the day I was like that as well. I was never shy in class or anything and had no problem talking to people but when I had to give a presentation especially one that was going to be graded I was always nervous and it was clear I was. Not sure why I guess grades where important to me LOL.... But over time if you try and focus on your topic rather then the people in the room it makes things better... well at least till it's time for questions.

Don't be too serious with it.  Make it something fun and it will be easier.

Instead of imagining the audience in your underwear, imagine yourself standing naked in front of everyone while in a very cold room.  That's the worst that could happen, your speech would be eaiser then. image

I have found the level of anxiousness during an oral report or speech is directly related to how well you know the subject.  It is all about being prepared.  Know the material like the back of your hand, that will give you the confidence to get through it.

I knew a guy that, whenever he got up in front of the public and had to do something, he would puke shortly afterward. That's pretty bad. I was a bit shy and still am a little unsure of myself when I stand up in front of people to speak on a subject.

Sometimes I get dazed when I'm in front of people. One time when I was explaining different segments of code in my VB.Net class in front of the class on the projector screen, my mind drew a blank and I started to realize how tired I was. I dwelt on how tired I felt and by the time silence had filled the room, I realized that I had to keep on speaking so I made an effort to.

I don't think that anything but social experience will be a certain cure for you. That doesn't entail humiliating yourself in front of other people, but also in watching other people humiliate themselves in front of you. We're generally all the same to some degree - you just have to realize it. And like someone said, you have to confront this problem.

The above means that you must admit that you are afraid of other people (admitting a problem) and then knowing that you don't have to be even if your pants fall down by accident and you start babbling like a fool. One time in junior high I had my shorts pulled down outside in front of a bunch of people by a senior. I glanced at him and then the other people and pulled them back up. It surprised me at the time, but I didn't get all red in the face and run off. I just went on about my business and so did they.

    The golden rule is

    • Plan
    • Prepare
    • Present

If you do the first 2 well the 3rd is a snip and it always shows who did the first 2 well and who didnt. The better prepared you are and the better you know your material the more relaxed you will be.

I have to agree with this to a certain degree. For me, I always had a problem if I tried to use cards or be too rigid in how I was trying to present my subject matter. I always decided to not use the note cards and as everyone has said use a little humor (self depricating if need be). Let the ideas flow from how you would tell anyone else about them like talking to your friends on the couch or your parents around the dinner table. If you know your material well enough, your points will be well taken and others should be able understand you as well. Also as silly as it may seem, practice in front of a mirrior and try using voice inflection (raising and lowering) while you do it.

Overall, have fun with it....everyone has to do it too right....might as well enjoy it::::28::
