If you like a heavily guided themepark that offers little to no challenge outside of pvp (and t hat challenge comes threw imbalance) then GW2 is for you.

I think its a good game, just not really a game for adults or any gamer that likes any amount of challenge to their experience. From the mind numbingly poor armor art direction to the sad sad sad repetative weapon skins, if you like over and over GW2 is for you.

Great news and cant wait for the update to go into play so that I can mess with all the new stuff there adding. The guild missions sound amazing and really cool that it allows others to jump in and help thats one I will be trying as it starts.

I can't help but smile when I here all the talk about imbalance in GW2, especially in the age of macro's.

The only way any game will ever be balanced is if everyone had the exact same skills and that would be boring and lack variety.

I don't think most non-grumpy gamers are looking for balance.  I think there are looking for a chance to win in the fight.  For, example, being able to dodge a fire ball coming at me.  If I know what my opponent is going to do and I don't have an ability to get to him quickly to stop it, then I should have a mechanic to avoid his attack.  Just like  a channel skill should hit harder because it's more difficult to use.

Sometimes it gets a bit ridiculous with all the claims.  I mean as a left-handed gamer, I could certainly push for GW2 to be a clicker only game so that all you right-handed players couldn't take advantage of all the fancy MMO mice, keyboards, and Nostromo/G13 game pads.

It would be good for the players you know.  I mean if just getting beat down by that other player hurt, imagine how low the self esteem will fall when they found out he was a left-handed clicker too.

Im not a fan of GW2 but how is the experience guided?  Even the hearts are randomly placed on the map and you would have to conciously run to them.

Agree somewhat on challenge, most of it for me being able to hit my number keys and dodge attacks at the same time -- but its no cake walk (at least for me).  I actually die more in GW2 than any other MMO I have played.

I wish the game had more 'depth'   Currently has an arcade-like feel with characters/story appearing one-dimensional.  Hoping Living story begins to improve on this.

Also just because you dont like a particular art direction does not mean the game itself is bad.  Stop passing your opinion off as fact.

    Few MMOs are.

If it's not broken, you are not innovating.

50 Year old ADULT who plays, and a Wife who is approaching 40 (yea...I married me a young'un) who logs in fanatically every day.

I disgaree about MMO's not being for adults...when it is as good as GW2.

agreed I'm only 31 but been playing online games since I was 10.. All my RL friends that play are in their 40s

I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg

ok, this one really made me laugh :D

I guess someone here has really no idea how WvW works in this game

I gotta say, the PvE in GW2 is already great.  The meta gear grind is terrible.  The PvP is mediocre.  I don't understand why they are "fixing" the one thing that is best the game.  I guess - as many had warned me - it really is their goal to appeal to WoW players and ignore GW1 fans.

Also, about class balance.  I'll take the minor mistakes A.net made in GW1 over the lack of fixes they've given us in GW2 any day.

Personally, I love to play GW2 from level 1-80.  After that it isn't worth a damn.

And a moderator just gave me a warning because i simply just said, while stating im not trying to insult anyone,  that gaming in general is meant for the younger crowd.

I shared my views and i am deemed "trolling" by a mod. This is part of a big reason  why the MMO genre is just losing on every way possible...

games in general are designed for the 18 and older crowd

Games are not suppose to be for adults in general, the end. I dont mean to diss you in any way but i used to like MMOs during my high school years but now looking back on it, i think these games are childish.

Again not to diss anyone but i really do thiink adults shouldnt be playing these games and start focusing on real life things lol.

    Hate replies incoming.

Except your logic is based entirely on misguided opinion, consider the average age of gamers is 30 as reported by the ESA an entity that kind of sort of tracks that sort of thing with soemthing called  statistics because things like demographics are kind of sort of important in things like business. Adults have this thing called expendable income which they can use to buy things that admittedly aren't always practical, they also have more control over their free time because they can pretty much do whatever they want whenever they want if they feel like it. I know a ton of "adult" gamers, many of whom are professionals (doctors, lawyers, executives, engineers and the like) who are dedicated to gaming as a hobby. Oh let's not forget that the people who make video games to support the multi-billion dollar industry are also adults who typically play games.

So yeah, I wouldn't let silly things like facts dissuade you. Gaming isn't the most productive of hobbies, but that's kind of the point of hobbies when as an adult you spend the majority of your time doing productive things like making money, raising families or sleeping it's nice to do something...*gasp* fun.

TL:DR You are either trolling or absolutely clueless.

Cool stuff. GW2 is a pretty amazing game, in terms of size and content. It's actually too big, which is why I stopped playing... I just don't have time for it! =X

Ya that is why you see so many adults playing video games...How many people play guild wars 2 exactly? or WoW which majority is a bunch of 12 year olds. Look at those facts and then say im trolling.

I'm deemed trolling because this is a gaming community and if i say something like this, which you know is true, you wouldn't accept it.

I'll believe it when I see it. We were told prelaunch that they would be focusing on open world then too and what did we get in November? A dungeon and the beginnings of a gear treadmill. Still waiting on my new DE meta's 6 months later here.

And as far as the rewards go, why can't the teleport cost be a permanent reduction solely for guild members of a certain rank? Wouldn't that solve part of the problem with the economy that has way too many money sinks and not enough money builders?

I'm wondering too if these are fixed events that a guild can research and release on queue that are the same as the nonmeta events system they have now, the same thing every time. Only time will tell tho.
