If you havnt played Tera yet you should give it a try as its Free to play now. Its combat mechanics are awesome, Its the only game ive been addicted to in a long time.

Just keep in mind that Tera is not the laid-back type of game where you just spam button 1 to max level. Tera will ask you to keep your mind and senses on it from the moment you log on until you quit, and for that reason alone, it is not a game that everyone will enjoy.
For the rest, anyone who is currently looking for something to play, Tera sounds like a solid option. And being Free to Play makes it even more attractive.
My opinion is my own. I respect all other opinions and views equally, but keep in mind that my opinion will always be the best for me. That's why it's my opinion.
I have been playing Tera for about 2 months now give or take (since early jan). I would recommend playing the game at least once if you haven’t played it yet. it will at least give you a month of entertainment for free. The sub is one of the best rewards for a sub in any game around imo. I really do enjoy the combat but after playing it for a while I have become burned out. The endgame is just grinding pve dungeons over and over again or BGing. If you’re lucky after spending a LONG @$$ time grinding BGs you might be lucky enough to find some good world pvp or GVG. Most guilds in Tera suffer from the downfall of F2P, the non-consistent player base and rampant BR. The game is bot free and mostly spam free.
TL;DR pretty good game recommend to players that havn't tryed.
Screw leveling games, give me something with "End game" at the beginning of the game.
I enjoy the combat....that's about it. Being a tank player I find myself feeling ridiculous as a lancer. Everytime I play I think I am in A Knights Tale and Ulrich von Lichtenstein is going to come charging at me on horseback at any minute.
OP what do you want me to do next? Star in a japanese massage porn flick?
What kind of laughable request is this. TERA is a game for braindead midwestern WoWers, so if you don't live in Virginia or Oklahoma avoid this game at all costs unless you initially wanted a lobotomy.
Its free, the worst that could happen is you uninstall the game, the best that could happen is that you actually enjoy some of the mechanics in the game and play it or play it to pass some time till your next prefered MMO comes out.
never played the original eastern vesrion, but the western one is a failure in my opinion :
Why o Why is it so slow ? The gameplay mechanics are nice but so fucking slow... I couldn't get into it. Not enough action for an action gameplay.
BUT
Graphics are really really nice and the game is very well crafted. I'd suggest it for beginner-casual MMORPG players. I believe TERA could be a great 1st time mmorpg.
It probably also make a decent RP plateform.

The fact is that you could be stimulating your mind with more exciting games.

So I take it you don't much care for Tera, that might be one thing its got going for it.

there aren't many more exciting games and exciting is very subjective and different for every person. I played it hated the questing system but loved the action combat and Pvp since it actually takes skill and not just running in circles or running zergs. Although since it went free the RNG is even worse, there is more content but the end game is still the same old but for a free game its top notch compared to every other F2P game, and even B2P out there.
The combat i liked but never played until the battlegrounds got introduced?
I think it was 3. The 3 vs 3 was just introduced with the F2P and has Ranked and Non-Ranked battles. I'd be playing it but quit gave (sold it for a good price) to my friend. When I quit I had all Top Tier gear, all +12 mastercraft, 450k gold. At that point there really wasn't much more to do other than ride around on my amazing new mount and show it off to the noobs and then chase down the PKs who thought they had skill.

Actually the combat is very fast paced... How much time did you put into it exactly, 20 minutes? You need to level up some before you can start annihilating stuff.

I payed a box, believe me I played much more than 20 minutes.
This is a very subjective debate. To me it's slow. It's really well crafted, smooth and everything but, to me, it should be like 1,5 faster to be enjoyable. Maybe It would make it a little too hard tp a large audience but I don't care much for large audiences. Most MMOs I loved where complete niche.
Still a good game but just not for me.

let the haters hate, and coming from someone like "darkfallfanatic" you can obviously spot his agenda as to which game that person wants you to play.
TERA is fun to me. it's actually had a lot of thought put into it from the people who translated all that korean into engliash which i appreciate. the graphics and controls are good and the fighting is actually innovative as opposed to many other games where you merely have to cycle through a hotbar.
the biggest downside is the portion of the community that exists only to troll (AKA my full block list) but there are also regular good folks out there especially on the pve servers and celestial hills.

Has skill now boiled down to putting a crosshair over a target? That is about the only thing skillful in TERAs combat. There is very little reactive in the way combat actually works.

was excited about tera when it was announced like any decent " gamer " should be when new title is announced.
then got into beta and realize that combat was only crosshair locked in mid screen you just turning your camera.
quit before release.
now , as free to play i went back and i truly enjoy it now when i move that crosshair case behind me.
2 character slots are not enough for me who loves alting and paying more slots is just quite too much.
the chat...in other hand is hideous and i have to turn it off, dont know where all these people comes from seems like
all the retarded people just gathers around in this game. i also got one example doing quest normally no one around " chosen low population channel " all of sudden i got whisper from some player who oviously didnt like my character looks " elin " and whispered me to stay away from him and that it would be good for my own health " im like what the **** ?
so aside from those im enjoying it and my girlfriend plays it aswell when we got time together sit down after playing another game called hyperactive little daughter goes to sleep

I tried trust me...several times. But Elin and Popori class really ruined it for me. I mean what the f*** is that?
Not to mention the insane chat and immature community. I felt so disconnected and after one week of heavy soloing with chat channels off i gave up.
By far the worst gaming community i have witnessed.

I agree it's really AAA game for trying since it's free. I personally felt really mixed when playing. Graphs were good, but it was all just pipe style playing like most MMOs are nor was I fan of art style. Combat was fun, but I felt thats all you do all time(perhaps because I played so few levels) and it wasn't really evolving. Crafting seemed interesting but traditional wait forever until animation stops. Also when I got city and first crafting quest (which I thought was tutorial) I found that materials to make those cost fortune, bad design. Probaply biggest thing was that I never felt like that I was sucked inside the game, the X factor was missing. But like OP said it's definetly game worth trying simply because it's professionally made.

Yeah I played one. Having a block button doesnt really make it any more tactical. Block when needed, proceed with standard rotation.
