GameSamba has announced that Champions of Regnum is now part of the Steam catalog of free to play titles. To celebrate the momentous announcement, the team has also launched the latest content expansion for CoR.

In addition to all of the new content and revamped gameplay that players enjoyed in the recent VIP Preview event, today's launch adds a new Capture the Flag instanced mode and a new map for Team Deathmatch, as well as an updated Steam client. The character faces have been completely redesigned, and it is now possible for players to gain Champion Coins by winning matches in the Battlezone modes. A Hall of Fame to honor the most glorious Champions of the Battlezones has also been added.

Find out more about Champions of Regnum.

It`s not that bad of a game, it`s a copy of DAOC with it`s RVR model.  The game looks very nice if you put it on max settings.

    tried it...

@punkrock2, on the highest settings it still looks like it was released alongside DAOC back in 2001, and feels a bit too clunky, lack of textures  and detail, etc,  you name it.

Not even close to these days standards.

Yeah!  Yet another 3 faction , PvP game complete with Dwarfs and none other than 2 races of Elves.

I'll pass... but thanks for the video clip.

    Ratero.

The game is not THAT bad, but don't expect a awesome game. The playerbase (when I played for some years ago) are really nice and helpfull. The population might not be the biggest one, but you can expect some pretty OK RvR from it! I like it, but I rather play other games.

this game is far from horrible and the graphics updates are really good compared to what it used to look like. If you like an old school DAOC realm vs realm clone you will probably enjoy this game. You can use sweetfx with it also and make it look great , though the characters do not look all that great , the landscapes look well. Also gameplay wise it starts off slow but gets much better around 20ish when you are in your main advanced classes and have more skills and abilities just like DAOC did.

Actually -- the funny thing is -- if you look at the list of the world's biggest mmos by population size, it's dominated by games with simpler gfx and not the typically leading mmos.

The top ones are of course in China, and you need a minimum of 300 million registered players to compete:

WoW is probably the western world's biggest, and WoW only has.....  12 million.

--------------- by way of commentary--- Regnum is now in the top 3-5 RvR open pvp mmos in the western world. They would be GW2, DAOC,  Warhammer Return for Reckoning and Champions of Regnum. RoR and Regnum are the only 2 pure f2p mmorpgs out there with RvR open pvp.

(Conquerors Blade may also be considered RvR open pvp, and then there is the coming Crowfall)
