More precisely, we are likely talking the Blizz MOBA. Now I am thinking they may go free-to-play minus a box pack here, and pack in a state-of-the-art cash shop to make their money by a microtransactions model somehow. There may be a small download charge for the game client code, though if we are lucky Blizz may show their full embrace of love for the F2P model and actually make it F2P to get that game client code. However, a cash shop is where Blizz are looking to get credit card love for the MOBA from.
Likely also fits into the Blizz/activision push into eSports as MOBA works perfectly there, imho, and will netowrk into Battlenet and facebook, and possibly even push into mobile phone apps so you can coordinate with your online buddies anytime.
Considering the lack of fun factor in Diablo 3 versus Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction, I can't say I'm too excited about any PC game coming from Blizzard anymore. They keep dumbing down their titles for twitch game teens to play and are alienating the vast numbers of older gaming fans who made them a success in the first place. I don't want a game stripped of all depth and complexity. Diablo 3 was a huge step backward in every way except graphics. Games stripped of depth and complexity are boring to me. Blizzard has become yet another example of what's horribly wrong with the PC gaming industry. PC gamers want more challenge, more thought, more strategy, more tactical planning. If we wanted to mindlessly run around and shoot things, we'd be using consoles, not PCs. We're not console-hugging twitchies. We're gamers with brains. The PC gaming industry is dying because they're taking mindless drivel off of consoles and porting it to PCs. Or in some cases, they're developing PC games within the limitations of a console for later porting or simultaneous release on consoles. Either way, today's PC games are generally much more limited in scope than many decade old PC games. They spend a fortune on graphics and zero on depth of gameplay. It's a shame. The games look epic and then are extremely disappointing when you start playing.
You know at this point I'm not really sure I care. Considering how poorly I feel Blizzard has treated their founding game properties over the last few years, I'm not sure they still have the drive or vision to create a completely new and worthwhile game.
Whatever it is I'm sure it will sell like hotcakes. Unfortunatly just like hotcakes I suspect it will also be flat, bland, and damn near tasteless all by its lonesome.
If you dont do stupid things while youre young, youll have nothing to smile about when youre old.
I haven’t read all the submissions to this thread, just the first page. Blizzard is known for RTS (Starcraft), Action (Diablo) and MMORPG(WoW). I would say something different would be a FPS in the Starcraft universe (Ghost Recon). Also since they are mainly a PC developer something exclusive to a console or tablet might be what they are talking about.
Pardon any spelling errors
Konfess your cyns and some maybe forgiven Boy: Why can't I talk to Him? Mom: We don't talk to Priests. As if it could exist, without being payed for. F2P means you get what you paid for. Pay nothing, get nothing. Even telemarketers wouldn't think that. It costs money to play. Therefore P2W.
i'm not expecting anything major. Maybe a cute facebook driven social media game, chasing Zynga's market.

Read better, thay have said: it is something different then their other games. - They already have DoTA style game - because DoTA started at their warcraft 3.
Guessing it's an app that has mini-games to earn coin/exp for whatever other Blizz games you own. Something to extend their existing games into the mobile space but with its own game play to hook new players as well. Then it could have a unified portal for everything Blizzard, too.
