What a joke EA, what a joke.

I just suffered the last straw with EA, the very last.

I purchased Dead Space 3 from origin on a digital basis, get the game right then and there, fantastic! co-op weekend here we come!

No game in games list yet money has been taken.

re-install origin, smash reload games a hundred times, do everything I can think of on my end.

Check the forums, log into EA help, fail to log in, change password that works for my origin account twice.

Talk to an advisor, he tells me they are having lots of sales, so they are getting backed up, wait until monday then give us a call! I accept with the intention to try again the next day.

Talk to the advisor after waiting 50 minutes in the chat queue, they tell me the payment hasn't cleared, I ask why, I paid with direct debt, same as I do with everything else over the net, his answer is to forward the case to the phone team and that I need to call the premium number to get it sorted out.

So now I have to call a premium number about the game I already paid for and didn't get, fine I want a end to this, lets do this.

Wait on hold for 10 minutes for the phone to go dead.

Tomorrow the bank will be getting the money back and I will forget every EA related game that comes out from now until forever.

I have the same problem can't get any of my games to show up on the list. They used to be there, but now they are gone and have no clue how to get them back.

Honestly, no reason for a digital version to do that.  If the company is serious about getting paid, then this type of issue should never happen.  Most MMO publishers and Steam would never have such an antiquated method for getting money from a customer.

    I feel you...

Tried Origin a year back for ME3. It was OK for a while, didn't have too many gamebreaking issues with the MP. One problem that comes to mind was friends sending messages to others who were online, but the messages were never arriving for the other person.

So people would have these one way conversations wondering why the other person wasn't responding, when the other person didn't  even have a clue they were even being talked to.

Another problem was a large number of friends suffered from continuous disconnection problems, especially on the last waves. Luckily this problem did not affect me, but it aggravated many of my original friends.

But that was just originally. And eventually a week came where a large number of PC players got hit with a "Must purchase an Online Pass to play Multiplayer" error, which also locked out anyone who had DLC (including collector's). It was sorted for most, but for me the problem kept coming back over and over again. So I started becoming a regular visitor to chat support to regularly get it sorted.

Final straw was trying to show my brother-in-law the game, because he was interested in joining the MP fun. Fired the game and got hit with the damn issue again. He lol'd and said maybe he'll try it when the issues get sorted. I said ****-it-all, uninstalled ME3 and Origin then and there and moved on.

Screwed up part is that there isn't even an Online Pass for the PC version.

You'll keep buying their games, and they know it.

Thats not true after swtor I uninstalled origin and dont play any of their games, I never will again.

Steam is king for me,  it has everything I could possibly want to waste time on in one store.

Why would I need EA's terrible service?

Well, u know, I suppose that they can expect that if people can't play their games, they'll stop buying them.

    hah

    EA Marketing meeting

Drone 1 "how do we get more profit"

Drone 2 "sell games but then not give them what they ordered"

Uberbot "processing idea into the EA matrix".

Because they tend to buy everything possible.  Seriously, aside from a few instances, if you avoid EA games then you're limiting yourself to Activision or Ubisoft.  Activision is even less creative than EA, favoring the yearly installments game rehashes, and Ubisoft is hellbent on ruining their games with abusive DRM crap.

A surprisingly high percentage of all games are published under one of those three, and to claim to write off one of them is only going to be possible up until they happen to release something you are interested in or looking forward to.

    I feel about the same.

I was pretty stoked to buy Sim City and copies for my gf and brother....until I found out the game is Origin only.

My heart cried a little, but I refuse to support the "Origin Only" titles.

I'll just find other games to buy & play with my friends and family.

This makes me so glad they aren't a JRPG publisher. If they had a hold of the Shin Megami Tensei Seiries or Dragon Quest I would have given up gaming by now

I play MMOs for the Forum PVP

You've forgotten Take-Two, ZeniMax, and SquareEnix (as a publisher). There's also the much smaller companies such as 1C who did the King's Bounty Games, among more.

It is very true that many people will turn their back on their experience and buy from the company they claimed they wouldn't, but one shouldn't assume everyone will do so.

Even the staunchest of supporters have breaking points.

EDIT: Switched 2k games with Take-Two, since they own them anyway.

<.< That sucks.  Haven't run into a problem ever buying anything off origin.  Or messaging people.

Good luck to ya! Hope they get it working soon!

Wow this problem seems to happen a lot.

This really makes me lean towards buying the physical game compared to anything online.

I'm not ordering online again. I'll just wait for the boxed sets and get them at Best Buy or something. Just keep myself busy with mmo games like ArcheAge and DCUO in the meantime while waiting for the releases.

Why bother and you buy from origin?

Steam is ten times better than origins.

If a game is not on steam dont buy it.Crack it

I always forget to press 'Refresh' on the settings menu after I've bought a game.  But then again I'm stupid so you've probably already tried that.
