i'm in the same boat. i really want to try it.

i can't find a trial anywhere though. ATI had a free trial if you bought one of their video cards but not for people who didn't.

i don't believe that there is...but look at it like this...you only pay for the game...free-online play...it is a deal for only $50...now- you could possibly just ask some of your friends opinions or see if they'd let you try their account for a little...its a fun game...and you get more than your money's worth

its not a deal if i pay $50 for it, install it, play for an hour and then quit because i don't like it.

If you play it only for an hour and quit then you deserve to get ripped off. ;)

saying what about a game? i didn't say anything about Guild Wars other than I want to try it.

i just said that if i don't like the game, then paying full price for it isn't a deal.  how is that saying anything bad about the game?

Okay, but if you buy a new game and only try it for an hour and never play again then that was a waste, because you didn't get into the depths of the game (at least in an MMO in an FPS for example it could be diffrent.)

Do you only buy video games if they have a demo? If you've never bought a game without trying a demo, then don't buy GW. Go back to your small collection of demos. I don't think even 1 in 10 games I've bought have had demos available. None of my PS2 games had demos. Boy, now that I think about it I'd have a really tiny game collection if I only bought games that had demos I tried first.

true, but if you don't like how the game plays in the beginning, most likely it isn't going to get better.

i just used an hour as an example.  i would give a game a few hours before i decided, but still, even a few hours for $50 is a waste of money.

I'm also interested in this game... Sure it's 1 time payment but I'll still ask before i buy it: What makes this game so fun? And do anyone wanna bother and write a little about the game?

    Ladies. Gentlemen. Trolls.

Here's the link for the 10-hour trial to Guild Wars.

    Guild Wars 10 Hour trial

I suggest that you get out of Pre-searing, and that you try some PvP before using all of the time.

If you live in Europe, you can buy Guild Wars for only 17.99£ on www.play.com
