Just a guess but no I dont think it will be released this month. I hope it will however
Normally when a game release date is the 1st, 15th or 30th that is usually a good indication that they dont really know when it will be released but are just estimating an end of the month releease.
You think they'll release when they're still having some problems getting their Gamma server up (the biggest beta-ish server)? What game do you think this is, WoW?
Current OFFICIAL Release date is set at Autumn 2005. That means they got until December until they have to push it back.
I doubt the game will be released any tmie soon. I prefer a bug-free game over a game that's released too early.
I usually would want a game to be release later but be better, however, with this one i would rather get it sooner. With no monthly fee, if its still is a work in progress then i dont feel like im wasting my money like a would if its was a monthly fee game. Im going to buy the game sometime... so may as well be now...if i dont like it cuz its not ready when... i can just try again in 3 6 or 9 months...with no additional cost to me.
If a game is released too early and has bugs then that means there will be expliots, it happenes in every game. I would rather they hold if off for some more time and fix the bugs then release it early. ofcourse I would love to see the game come out tomorrow or whatever but thats not going to happen.
Something they obviously need to work on is the cash-cash ratio --- I mean the RL cash to in-game cash ratio. They're trying to work that out right now and that is difficult to do at the same time as doing the beta-testing of the game itself
They are making 'leaps and bounds' progress at the moment is all I'll say (these things come in stops and bursts so things are presently looking very good)
BTW - Who said 30th? September? October? November? Maybe the press (or poor press) is being listened too a little too much - any COULD be true but WHO SAID IT?

No one has said where that date actually came from but on the official website its listed as fall 2005 which could be anytime from now until xmas. However they said they will release it when its ready :P
It'll be released when it's done; but RB think that it should be finished before the end of 2005.
Any specific dates which have been given are made up.
If you've played Project Entropia they tell you can make some cash. Same with Roma Victor. I really like the concept however, it seems like it's just an On-Line version of gambling. Cash in your hard earned bucks for virtual currency, then gamble in the hopes to make a 10-20 dollar profit. I played PE for two months, never spent any money, and only left ahead 10 dollars, which i never redeemed. I don't want some company that's unproven, and untrusted running around with my Social Security number and Credit Card information. I'd rather P2P something fun, than something that is mediocre on hopes of cashing in on that uber rare item.
I never read anywhere that you can cash in RV money for real money. Maybe selling to other players but, you would have to sell for less than RB.

Roma Victor is not another Project Entropia; cashflow goes one way. You give money to RedBedlam, they give you some virtual money that you spread around the world. You could attempt to sell virtual money to other players, but RB has taken a stand of not allowing it. While I applaud their stance, it hasn't really stopped other people from doing so in other games. It will be interesting to see the outcome of all this.
P.S. RV has no "uber"-items. There are items of superior quality, but nothing akin to the item-hop of D2 when LOD came out. Items play a big role, but are not the deciding factor in many cases.
I dont believe you can use RV money to get real money unless you do it against the EULA but you can use real money to get RV money.
Anyhow the release date was pushed back to 12/30 on mmorpg i think. I wouldnt expect it then either though

secondly... this is not like project E, you cannot make money ingame and take it out as real life cash.

Obviously don't believe a date MMORPG.com has if the offical site doesn't have the same date. If they don't have the same date then it is pretty clear that the MMORPG.com date is not correct. I would guess it was just an estimate on the part of MMORPG.com.

They have the skill system in place, they have the economic factors in place (still majorly tweaking), they have combat in place . . .
It's not as barren as you'd think.

hope theres no NDA violations around here..... anyways.
as I said in my preview on this site.. all the major system dynamics are IN already, and being tested... however they are adding content slowly for testing. So if you plan on getting into rv beta tomorrow and play a full game, your sadly mistaken... this is a TEST, for TESTERS, not people looking for a free game.

the devs have on a thread debunked the release dathe that mmorg has given so dont belive the mmorpg date the Oficial site says autum 2005 and thats what teh date is

It's more like the Devs hope to have it out by then. If that will happen . . . *shrug*
Just keep in mind that if it doesn't happen, it's not unlike any other game company. Hardly will you find developers who can stay to a strict release schedule while producing quality material. And it's not like RV has "Gone Gold" yet.

It has been my experience that companies put a target date up but, should mechanics not work right, they push the date back. This, of course, usually happens- but I'm not complaining. I'd rather they get it right before the release then trying to tweak it after.
