WildStar: The Dominion's Deradune

The latest WildStar Wednesday has been posted with a nifty new profile of one of the early zones in the game. Called "Deradune", the zone is inhabited by wild creatures and ferocious natives yet has been ostensibly 'tamed' by the Dominion.

At the southern end of Deradune there is a bubbling tar pit surrounded by the massive skeletal remains of long-dead creatures. Rumors have surfaced that an ancient Eldan exo-lab is located somewhere nearby, attracting a number of curious scientists and daring explorers who hope to find its location. Just above the tar pit are the sacred burial grounds of Clan Bloodfire, where the remains of fallen Draken warriors are interred. Normally these grounds are quiet, but lately guards have reported seeing strange figures creeping around the graves at night, whispering strange and ominous incantations…

The story and concepts are very cool. I only hope that their choice to restrict each class to one weapon type proves fun and successful. They mention something about "gadgets" for additional abilities so almost sounds like a GW2 ability setup. You get (x) amount from your weapon and the rest are slotted based on need.

I would definitely like to see more about this game and actually get some play time. This looks very interesting.

I love the cartoon style of graphics with an edge. I like the wry humor inherent in the game. I am not liking the idea of only one weapon type for each class though. I can't wait to see how it plays and feels, maybe the gadgets will make up for only one weapon type. We shall see. :)

It seems like a great time to release a WoW-esk game. Now I know there are many differences between WildStar and WoW but it might be a good idea to push for that market. WoW is getting old and I think the players are looking for something new.

Sorry the graphics remind me of loony toons rather then say wow.
