World of Warcraft: The Thunder King Goes Live

SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

The highly anticipated patch for World of Warcraft, The Thunder King, has now gone live across all servers. The update brings a new quest hub online as well as new daily quests and alterations to character classes.

The Legendary Quest Continues:

Wrathion is determined to know the origin and source of Mogu power, and Azeroth's mightiest heroes will aid the Black Prince in finding out what it is. The search for information will take players into the depths of the Thunder King's Palace, and pit them against trials of perseverance and skill. Along the way, they'll unlock the secrets to a new legendary metagem, the Crown of the Heavens.

Players seeking to re-acquire previous Legendary quest rewards (such as gems for Sha-touched weapons) can now speak with the Blacktalon Quartermaster, the surly-looking Pandaren standing in the first floor of the Tavern in the Mists.

Read the full patch notes on the World of Warcraft community site.

    LOL

Out of every 100 men, 10 should not be there,
80 are nothing but targets, 9 are the real fighters.
Ah, but one, ONE of them is a warrior,
and he will bring the others home.

Hurray, you are poster number 1,000,000 to post a daily quests one liner trying to flame WOW. Congratulations! Focusing on just 1/100th of the patch is not exactly constructive. Let's have a look.

The Patch introduced an new zone with dailies in it. The new zone includes summonable group bosses, rare chests, rare spawn bosses, a treasure room (which I have no idea how it works), new transmogrification items and lore scrolls.

The patch introduced a new raid dungeon, new world bosses, continuation of their "legedary" quest chain, a new boss system, a farmville style thingie, new scenarios (I think) and tons of class changes, pet battle changes and professions changes.

Mission in life: Vanquish all MMORPG.com trolls - especially TESO, WOW and GW2 trolls.

WoW is the best game out right now, gw2 died as all expected, darkfall was lol, and tera should not even be mentioned. Lets not forget secret world, which had amazing everything... "sarcasm" so that leaves us with good ole WoW. Honestly I've been having more fun just running 2's and 3's in arena than anything else, once you get past the flavor of the month class, or roll and alt, the game is very fun. Today marks the end of season 12 for pvp, which means a new treadmil to run for the next few months. Most of you may find this boring, but atleast it's rewarding, where as gw2 pvp is welll...... yah.

Gw2 Died? Maybe for the WoW players (thanks God), because there are still tons of people playing, and more and more start playing these days.

The new additions look interesting. I'll have to give them a try once the initial rush subsides.  Looking at the class changes, I see that Ghostcrawler still has his nose stuck in his spread sheets and data mining <face palm>

    Everquest II.

Too bad SOE put F2P players ont he same segrver as subscription players though. :/

I have to say, MoP has a lot of positive to go along with the negative, and I wish I could let go of the downgrading of game play and enjoy it. I can't though. And, I'm voting with my wallet, and have hopes that millions of others witll do the same. We are veteran players, not little kids with their first computer game, and we want content that speaks to our level of capability.

Have played: Everquest, Asheron's Call, Horizons, Everquest2, World of Warcraft, Lord of the Rings Online, Warhammer, Age of Conan, Darkfall

-Except that this is WoW and everything good about this game died in TBC. Enjoy wasting the rest of your time reading about how this new patch can waste more of your time.

Hurray after completeing the dungeon and other lackluster content you will be left with the dailies. Which is pretty much what wow has become. Dailies for dungeons, dailies for rep, to progress in wow you have to do dailies.  [mod edit]

It always makes me laugh, people want open world pvp, well blizzard adds in PvP dailies on the isle of thunder, and they cry about doing dailies...just can't make anyone happy I guess.  I for one, like the new content.  First off it has dinosaurs. I love dinosaurs.  Second off the trolls are back with a vengeance...I love trolls too.  And third PvP is back :D

Edit: People need to learn, just because you hate something, doesn't mean that everyone is going to hate it.  On the contrary, it would seem the majority of MMO players like dailies...that's why they're playing WoW.  Stating opinions as facts is very misleading.

So flipping stupid and for you to defend it shows that you are one of the 12 year old kids that wow has focused on appealing to.

I for one, welcome our new Dallies Overlords!... ^^  They have their uses. It depends on what you want from the game.  I've long since fallen off the raiding bandwagon, and I seldom run any given dungeon more than a few times.  I've quit chasing the shiney purples, and just focus on the parts I find entertaining.  Once I'm done with those, I take a vacation and go play something else.

The LFR raids are really the equivilant of doing heroic dungeons...only with 25 people. They aren't "real" raids and any semi-casual can do them without it becomming a second job like in the old raids. Yet you still get to see the content and continue with your character progression...just not as powerful as the "real" raids. It's a good compromise for people with less time to play.
