Runes of Magic: Fourth Anniversary Events Detailed, Trailer Released

SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

Runes of Magic is turning four this year. The team has released a new trailer to celebrate the momentous occasion and has announced a slate of in-game events to take place during "Anniversary Week" from March 19-26.

Runes of Magic players can look forward to a birthday celebration full of special events. In the Gift Swap, Taborean heroes have the opportunity to receive valuable items through trading with special NPCs, while the XP/TP/Drop Event offers generous bonuses on experience points, talent points, and the item drop rate. Under the motto, ”Let’s Celebrate!”, the community is called upon to post festive birthday screenshots in the Runes of Magic forum and on Facebook. Various desirable items will be awarded to participants who submit particularly impressive snapshots.

Find out more on the special anniversary page on the Runes of Magic site.

Yes it is a decent enough game, but Frogster puts the GREED and MISLEAD into the term F2P.

it could be considered reasonable to say you can do certain things the long way without a huge need for cash shop, but truth is the factual numbers on length of time,is into your grave years. So they have made it so you MUST pay more than it is worth, that is just GREED and really bad business operations.

They usually do give away really good or O/P gear during events but their actual events are absolutely atrocious and often times childish.I obviously did not take part in every event, msot players didn't take part in any after awhile because the trend was so obviously bad.The ones i did looked like they spent maybe half a day to come up with the idea and implement it.Hard to call it an EVENT when so little effort is put into it.

A couple examples...come find the GM locked in a house or come to the Gm and they will turn you into a bunny rabbit.Seriously why even bother?Wel lsimple,it is part of their contract,i beleive it was once a month, they have to put on some sort of event,or maybe it was more often, been over 2 years now.

PS ...It was actually their customer support that turned me off,the worst most arrogant support team,i have ever dealt with in gaming. This FACT should be shared becuase since we are dealing with hard earned money, this means a lot.

BTW their support team, seemed to NOT be Frogster, not on the forums either, where they carry an instant ban stick.

BTW as to forums, you ask for help, they always give you the cue card response and pretty much NEVER respond.say one off topic positive response and all of a sudden the mods join in to say thank you.Say one bad thing and instant ban.Ask for answers on your support question and they remain invisible. They take the term "CUSTOMER" out of customer.

This is what can happen to potentially good games ,when you bring in sideshow publishers, they have NOTHING to do with the game aside from the money aspect.

I doubt you will find any former player have nothing but nice things to say and it is ALL because of Frogster, nothing to do with the game ,which is actually pretty good.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Yet isnt it amazing that this game made the company over 200 million in profit in 4 years...

I used to play this game very casually, and remember events where if you were in one of the main towns you could get turned into a bunny by anyone doing one of the even quests.  They really need to rethink something like this, as it was incredibly annoying.  Never completely leved up a character, but you can clearly see the way that you have to upgrade gear makes the game PTW.

Honestly one of the best f2p games I've plain. The combat and movement was awesome. It was great up until the cash shop was released.
