Wrong timeline and wrong way round but a Simcity Deathstar would be a cool idea.
haha yeah, sci-fi theme with imperials all over wandering about, patrolling and carrying out their daily duties..
I could see EA copying Blizzards annual pass, giving Sim City away for free now, and a promise for next years SSSP early beta ... for only the obligation of a full years subscription committment.
damn .. the more I think of a Star Wars themed Sim City .......

Looks like something will be announced on Darth Haters site on monday, I wonder what will it be.http://www.darthhater.com/articles/featureMaybe.. the super secret space project? Something awesome, something lame, something we already know about?
In the "SWTOR gets SWG downgrade" option, you critically misspelled "downgrade."

Also it belongs into SWTOR because SWG "set the bar" -- SWTOR is currently dancing the limbo under it.
Tha makes no sense at all. SWG got nothing to do with SWTOR. So yeah SWG set the bar but SWTOR doesn't owe anyone the space flights features.
Just more of the same entitlement issues of the players.

you show me that part in SWTOR, must have missed the view from my fully customizable ship down to the planet surface
Just because SWG had it, doesn't mean it belongs, or would be welcome at all in SWTOR. Open space flight sim? Which Star Wars movie was that in?
All of them.
I said Star WARS, not Star Trek. Can you name an example of a scene in Star WARS where they randomly wandered in space?
Are you hung up on Randomly?
OK, when the Rebel Forces left Hoth, they met up in a random sector of space. The reassembled fleet later took on the 2nd Death Star.
In the meantime, the Millenium Falcon randomly flew from Hoth, followed by Imperial forces, into an asteroid field. The Falcon performed an odd maneuver which allowed it to "hide" within the Imperial fleet till it left. The Falcon seeing wher it was, then decided to make route to Bespin.
In the prequels, Obi-Wan flew all over the damned galaxy.
The Imperials were surprised by the attack by small fighters from Yavin, unlike their tie-fightters, the rebel craft had hyper-drives capable of intercepting the death star between planets.
In epsidoe 1, the Queen's transport is hyperspace capable and outruns the planetary blockade.
I dunno, there are a ton of free flight space refrences in the Star Wars movies, because it was about Space going folks.
Even the "ground" battle of Hoth focused mostly on the "speeders" in the air. (Which went a crap-ton faster then 110% walking speed.)
Just for kix, there was no orbital space station over Dagobah.
Entitlement issues, seriously? What, are they the [mod edit]% not buying cartel packs?
Then what else is it? space flight belong in SWTOR only because SWG had it? so somehow Bioware owes it to you? i am sure i am not the only who is alittle tired of pointless SWG comparison in every topic.

I would say space-flight belongs in SWTOR because it belongs in Star Wars, not because SWG had it. When people say they want chat bubbles and sitting in chairs, yeah thats them wanting SWG back. Space flight, however, is just something to belongs in Star Wars and the version of it delivered with the game is... lackluster to say the least.
I present you all the reasons you should have space flight in Star Wars, and Im not even a Star Wars fan:
A 3 second search on youtube yielded space flight in the Star Wars movies. Incredible.

I never denied that space flight combat doesn't belong in SWTOR. I am specificly talking about those who bring SWG in every single topic. I myself would love to see more elaborate space flight system SWTOR but i am just tired with SWG comparison in every topic of SWTOR i want to participate in.
However, i don't feel that i am somehow entitled to it only because i am SW fans.

I assume a TINY bit of info about the space xpac, and other assorted crap for the NEXT xpac (which the space sim will be a part of)
Expect "xpacs" every 6-12 months.

I am really surprised there seem to be people who completely ignore and/or hate the space component of "Star Wars".
Who knows, Disney might re-release a Star Wars edition on Blu Ray, where every reference to "space" is edited out... watch all 6 movies in 2 hours
