hello, i just need some help on choosing a game to play

and i was wondersing if u guys can help me.

I havnt really played much mmorpg, only linage and guildwars

and the reason i stopped linage was because it had an online fee

i was wondering r there n e other games thats like guildwars?

where they dont require u to may a monthly fee?

there aren't any other games like guild wars that i know of. there are many free mmorpg games but they tend to suck pretty bad. you get what you pay for. most of them are korean mmos. the koreans release like 10 new mmos a week...its ridiculous.

If you want a full on free game try: Flyff cause that will never become p2p or try KAL Online or Knight Online or some other free ones or check the free MMOG/MMORPG List at the pub at MMORPG.COM its at the top on the first page! there is a hole list!

Actually Diablo 2 is almost identical to guild wars, and it probably costs like $5 now...

Hmm, explain to me the difference. The only one I can think of is that in D2, you speak to anyone online in chat, and in GW you can see their avatar in one of about 10 billion shards, and only in town.

They are both one big instance.

calm down ashkent, i have never played D2 but from what i can tell the guy is just trying to be helpful and put up a game he thinks is a good game that should be suggested.... cant a guy put in his two cents without getting told to leave the forums??

Anyway but in realation ot the topic..

If u actually look around at all the mmos there not that expensive unless you are thinking about playing one for a year plus which by then there is a good chance youll be board of it.

But as others have said there are plenty of free mmos eg ROSE online and other Korean style games...

did you read his post? he said Diablo 2 is the same as Guild Wars. He wasn't just saying that he should try diablo 2

Actually I think my post was the most constructive in this entire thread. He was asking for a game like Guild Wars, with no monthly fees. Diablo 2 is as close as he is going to get. Both are heavily instanced online games, where you can communicate with anyone in the network, but only play with a certain number. Diablo 2 had alot more "character" to it too. It felt more unique.

So while everyone else was suggesting he play free, persistent MMO's, I suggested an ORPG sharing many of the same characteristics as Guild Wars, including instancing and no monthly fees.

If you can somehow construe this information as "idiotic", then maybe I'm not the one who should "gtfo of the boards."

Modjoe is right, Diablo 2 is as close as it gets to guild wars. tough some of the fanboys still refuse to believe Guild Wars isn't an mmorpg.
