does it mean that it comes with total 3 months of subscription per account with lowered cost of sub? If yes that's my tier ^^

"What I decided to do instead was to use a system where each pledge tier comes with a certain number of “Founder’s Points” that can be spent inside the game in a backers-only store"

hmmm how can we reserve the name, will it be in beta? If store in ingame then we need to create character first so i'm confused ;)

BTW I can't believe I can see there things i suggested: "discounted sub rate" and " reserving your character name". Well maybe Mark thought about it before me, but If not I'm so happy I could somehow help and it was listened :)

Good luck Mark, we really believe that it's the game we were waiting for so long time :)

See, I told you guys I was listening, paying attention, writing stuff down, etc. :)

I'd like to know about the top tiers, the 5000$, 10000$ ones.

I'd also very much like to know if the kickstarter will launch early or late this week, so I can at least confine my OCD-like refreshing of the various CU-pages to a couple of days. Don't want to be caught off guard and miss out on something.

Hopefully later this week. Being snowed in today (so far) won't help but I should be able to get out of here later today.

As to the high-end tiers, we have a number of them between $1,000 and $10,000 like every other KS. I do think that one of the rewards for the 10K will provoke major LOLs from people. :)

Mark, will you update the Camelot Unchained Site with all the reward tiers? It would be nice

    Mark,

Will there be any additional info (either now or in the actual KS) about what exactly the "Founder's App" does?

$10000 tier reward will include 100 digital accounts? or (in Bob Barker voice) A BRAND NEW CAAAAAR!

I'd take 100 accounts over a car worth sub 10k... lol

Thanks again to MMORPG and the community here, you really had a profound impact on the rewards/Founder's Points concept and execution.

Since these are the lower level tiers, would it be possible to see one of the higer level tiers or would it just be a combination of the ones that we see?

Somone already mentioned the 5k and 10k, id like to see something inbetween the 1250 and the 5k maybe in the 3k range.

Maybe. This is one of the things that I also want to work with our backers on. I know what I would like to see but...

    Mark,

Will there be a beta 1 tier? And a multi alpha tier (I'm sure my brother hasn't had a better birthday present to date!)

I'm honestly only interested in the digital copie(s) (Duh!), beta/alpha acces and discounted subscription/'lifetime'.

Even with those remarks it's a very tempting kickstarter, one that will probably make you spend more than you'd planned for :D

    *Thumbs up*

We will definitely use the mailing list, a countdown timer. etc. to let our potential backers know.

The $200 may go fast, not 100% sure of that though, we'll see.

Glad you like the discounted sub rate for backers, as per my message above, I think that was a really good ask by the community and one that I'm happy to put in our KS. Faith should be rewarded and anyone who believes enough in CU/CSE to buy our game through Kickstarter will be. I told everyone here that our reward tiers would be generous whether by Kickstarter standards or by non-KS standards. I'm glad that you and other people agree. Oh, and the tiers will get even better as we reach certain goals just like other KS projects. :)

lot of goodies planned it looks like.

I retract my statement.  It was explained to me the reasoning behing the higher cost of early access:

The amount of people in alpha and beta has to be regulated to keep server costs down.  This is something I never thought of or knew.

So I admit I was wrong.

Also, I only read the massively article, and didnt know about the mmorpg article.  They have different information shown.

    ----------------------------------------Original Post---------------------------------------------

When i first read the topic I said to myself, "I really hope they dont pull some slimy chinese F2p tactic and make beta access worth a couple hundred (Neverwinter, looking at you)."

Guess what, they did it.  To get into beta 1, it costs $450, I read no further.

I know we live in a capitalist state (we have to monetize demand to its fullest extent), but these practices seem so disingenuous and exploitative. I'm not asking them to change, but I cannot see myself giving them any cash while pulling this stunt.

I wish someone would show me the numbers where giving beta access at a $60 level wouldnt bring in even more funding.  An incentive like this could greatly increase the average donation per person.

Maybe they justify a $450 beta 1 by only wanting die-hard fans at first who are more likely to view beta in a positive light.  Can't blame them there.  As it stands however, this seems like more of a cash grab than a legitimate kickstarter.

I still wish this game success.

I'd toss in some $5-$10 pledges in there. Maybe a thank you letter, some digital wallpapers, etc. Every little helps right? Can pay for the coffee and donuts around the office.

Also, given that there's not going to be many NPCs in the game, perhaps for the higher pledges there could be the "create an NPC!" option that so many other games have? It would certainly have more lasting appeal than a statue that sits in the corner gathering dust... I know I'm sick to death of all the plastic crap hanging about my room.

This kind of attitude offends me. You think that happening upon the kickstarter before others should be rewarded rather than devoting time and resources? I don't want to live in a world where luck wins over dedication.

To clarify; I see your point, this game might not need the money generated from the gamers who will pay for alpha/beta access. The amount of such slots will be limited, however, and somehow those slots have to be allocated. Please explain the reasoning behind letting beta access be cheap and getting ripped away earlier, and how your view of justice fits in with that.

Umm, not exactly, I'm sorry that I wasn't clear enough in the diaries. You can get Alpha access at $200 and Beta 1 comes with other tiers at less than $450. The tier you are referring to is a Physical Tier and those are more expensive because of the physical goods that they come with. I hope this clears things up.

Will the Guild tiers be unveiled before the KS too ? Like, is it part of part 2 ? :) That's something I think a lot of potential backers are looking forward to...

I'm a bit disappointed that lower tiers don't get access to earlier betas, but I guess you have a good reason for that.

Otherwise, I like the tiers and I hope it gets funded before the 30 days limit :p

It is perfectly ok that you are not pleased with the rewards for each tier. If you are quite hyped with this game, you would like to have all of these rewards, but maybe cannot afford them. I feel so, too. I cannot afford to back one of the higher tiers. But I will back as much as I can, since I like the way this project is presented to us, as well as I like the vision behind it.

However, the 200$ tier will include alpha access, which leads to access to all betas, since the backer are not invite to early stages and after that pushed out again.

You can't go with a 60$ tier for alpha acess because then, you will have to much players in the alpha and early beta stages. Player who back with more money are supposed to be more interested in the success of this game and the alpha and beta feedback will be more qualified (hopefully). This has nothing to do with viewing the beta in a positive light. The opposite is true. People who invest more money in the beginning will quite unhappy if it turns out that the game is not the one they expect in alpha / beta. People who invest much money are also more informed about the game and the progress of development and therefore do not expect to have a polished game in an early beta phase.

All statements above just an educated guess. Of course there are also people who would dying to see this game  a success, but simply can't afford a beta tier. They have to have faith in those who can participate.

    MMO's played so far:
    UO,EQ,DAOC,EQ2,GW,ROM,WOW,WAR,AOC,LOTRO,RIFT,TSW,GW2,POE
Looking forward to: Camelot Unchained, Star Citizen

The $110 tier gets Beta 2(looks to be after Alpha, I don't see Beta 1) ...

Pledge Tier $110 – Comes with everything above plus special starter armor (cosmetic difference only), special starter weapon (cosmetic difference only), founder’s wall plaque, unique trophies, unique dyes, digital copy of the art book, special in-game thanks, extra character slots (# TBD), discounted sub rate ($ TDB), Gold forum badge, Beta 2 access, 40 total FPs and a total of 3 months of free subscription.

That's a pretty good deal for the game, 3 months, beta after alpha, along with all the other goodies.  It's basically a super early preorder with goodies.

I think a lot people are getting too worked up over alpha access thinking it's going to be more that it really will.  It's going to low graphics, only a super small fraction of the game to test, crashes, disconnects, lock ups, wipe toons, roll backs, lagging, etc...  It'd be cool and all to get in, but not going to flip a lid over it, just play life until beta 2. :D

I'd love to get Alpha access, but the $200 price point is a bit more than my budget can allow. I need lights more than I need Alpha. =) We'll see how things go though.

Beta 1 is part of the $450 Physical Tier list.

Pledge Tier $450 – Comes with everything above plus a total of 50 FPs, an additional digital copy of the game (30 days subscription on the second copy), additional exclusive cosmetic housing items, 3D character model of your choice (1), CU poster signed by the development team, cloth map signed by Mark Jacobs, special backer credits, 12 month subscription and Beta 1 access.
