Isn't that the turn-based MMO? I'd recommend Priston Tale if she wants something like ROSE.

Yup, if you are looking for a Rose clone, it's probably Flyff... Played both betas, and the graphic+gameplay was very equal (altough I personally prefered Rose Online).

I wouldn't recommend any mmorpg to a 12 year old girl.

I know little kids who play WoW
usually their parents or older sibling ust removes them from all the chat channels, and blocks whispers.
Takes like 1min to do, and the kid can play and there isnt any way people can actually talk to them.

So you dont have to worry about people screwing up your kid

after 6 or so years, I had to change it a little...

True. The thing is though, that some kids know how to take off any blocked chat that was put on in the first place. I remember when my mom used to block some websites and chats for me when I was around 13 years old. I always got into them anyways.

    Never underestimate a young mind.

first of all i applaud you if by age 12 the kid isn't already "messed up". a lot of stuff goes down in schools. i understand that you possibly know she's already been exposed to it, and just don't want to re-inforce it, but any MMORPG that you give her she has a pretty equal chance of questionable content seeing her eyes.

theres that toon town game where you can only say predetermined lines of speech, but i think thats pay to play as well.

Toontown is a good safe bet for kids, but yes it is pay to play.

Ragnarok Online. its the original copy of ROSE and Flyff. =D
And it is pretty childish, yet has the very basics atributes of any MMORPG so it will get her ready to play the good MMORPGS when shes older.
Another thing, if shes 12, shes probably in middle school, and shes already screwed up like the rest of us.

So anything her parents dont let her do now, shell try when she has the freedom to do it.
Ex: if your parents say "Dont eat the chocolate in fridge", when theres no1 home, you just go and eat a bite. If your parents had not told you to not eat the chocolate, you probably woulndnt even be interested.
Thats how it works with people.

And again, No, letting your kid play a MMORPG wont screw him up or get him in trouble if their parents are responsible enough.

    Just my personal opinion.

    I suggest Runescape.

Im sure her mental age would be well above average in that game.

Yeah MMOs wont screw a young kid up. I started playing the beta of Meridian 59 (By 3DO.... BOOO::::07::) like 8 years ago or so when i was like 11. So the only thing MMOs will do to a young kid is have the stuck infront of a computer all day and may lower their grades in school cause the just think about what they are going to do on (insert MMO here) tonight. So instead of getting addicted to drugs they just get addicted to MMOs which in my opinion is much safer and healthier as long as they do actully get out and do something sometimes not just sit infront of a computer forever
