I love the way this is shaking out and love the fact that MJ is as involved as he is with the community. I wish they never robbed you of your dream for WAR. I eagerly await my chance to throw money at this ..... hopefully for many years to come.

It's fun being involved again. In a bizarro world kind of way I'm actually looking forward to the chaos that will be our private forums. That should be *interesting* to see the least.

Yeah i'm pretty pleased with the energy he puts into this, that's why i have no doubt in backing the project. If things don't come to fruition it won't be due to lack of energy or devotion on MJ's part.
And regarding my original post: I truly do hope some sort of a hybrid tier inbetween the 2 highest digital tiers will emerge, but if that doesn't happen MJ has stated that he'd grant alpha access to handpicked people he finds contributed to the game on the forums, so there's a challenge in there for me to meet .
Thanks, I'm just hoping my back holds up. Long-time Mythic folks or anyone who spent a lot of time at our E3 booths might remember me hobbling around those shows. So far, other than a warning twinge this morning, so good.

The BSC is okay but I think it needs some more stuff in it. if I'm not happy with it I may scrap it till I have something I'm happy to offer to our backers.
Honestly not sure I care about alpha access compared to lifetime sub but wouldnt mind spending 500 bucks. but i want to make sure this game fills that void DAoC left in my heart for epic RvR action. maybe i should just get 2 $250 teir? decisions...........
Also makes me worried that this alpha will be full of DAoC fanboys (fangrandads?) and they will inevitably drown out any feedback from everyone else.
The amount of hatred and distaste for DAoC veterans within the community right now, which are mostly comprised of DAoC veterans, is pretty ridiculous. It's almost to the point Mark should just send out a newsletter on Monday, April 1 announcing DAoC "fanbois" facing off against DAoC Haters.
It'll be a great April Fool's prank. Nonetheless, CSE would be pretty foolish to ignore feedback simply because you didn't play DAoC.
Lol, I agree. Fangrandads? . I'm 35 and married with no kids to a gamer girl who is four years my junior. I'm not too concerned when younger gamers, who haven't been long out of their parent's house (or still living with them), try to take a swipe at me for my age, as you can tell by my tag. Still, some people, (like my woman) don't take that ageist crap to well lol. I think it's funny when people "grow up" and they find they still have the same "childish" hobbies they had when they were young. It happens pretty quickly (getting older) and could even sneak up on you Axi
About the tiers, I have really no problem with them. My wife and I will each be pledging to the 50 or 110 tier more than likely.

MJ, it's statements like that which keep us wanting more and believing. My MMO 'circle of friends' and I know you intend to reach deep into your bag o' tricks to launch this title in line with the vision you have had for this industry over many great years.
Question: Any chance there would be a way for a kickstarter tier/reward where we could all tag our guild and maybe get something special as a group not only an individual? I mean how bada$$ would it be to see a whole guild of backers really pouring their resources into it as a team (just like you and your team). No real ideas on my end, but maybe you could come up with something -- glowy always works.

afaik, there are plans for this, they just havn't been anounced yet.
What i really would like as an old DAoC player is to have Alpha access to the game. As a gamer and a software engineer i truly believe i can be of help there, so i want a tier with alpha access. That would be the $200 tier.
However, since I am willing to frontload 100% faith in MJ and Camelot Unchained i want to go for a ' lifetime sub' option, that would be the $250 tier.
It seems very odd to me that i have to choose between them, or pay $500 for the combined one. This would mean that i get 'punished' for wanting a lifetime sub because when i choose to have alpha access on top of a 'lifetime sub' i would need to pledge $250 extra.
And yes, i glanced over all the other stuff i get, but what i'm primarily interested in is Alpha access and lifetime sub. A lifetime sub should cost quite a penny, but alpha access should (in my opinion) be a no-brainer in this tier.
I'm a gamer, i want to play early, play long and play hard! I find $500 to combine the $200 Alpha and the $250 'lifetime' too steep, maybe come up with a 'hybrid' solution?
MJ: you asked for feedback, hope mine helps ;-)
PS: MJ: thanks for all the hard work getting all this up!
Don't these numbers have to be small? In alpha, how many players could the game sustain? Would having 10,000 alpha testers keep the client permanently crashed?
Seems like that could be part of their rationale - they need the 'alpha' package to be prohibitive to retain smaller numbers - with the side benefit that you don't have 10k+ people screaming on the forums: "I paid for this alpha access and the servers are always down" .......do people really understand how limited alpha access is, even if you have it? I've alpha'd one game. I was lucky to get to play a total of 3 hours per week. They probably want to limit alpha to those who have a pretty clear understanding of what that limited access means.
Doesn't really help you any.......but that may be the idea behind the bizarre structure.

FYI, I'm editing the "access" part of all the tiers now. I'll talk about these changes tomorrow, I hope it will make things clearer and people should be happy with the result. I do think that part of the problem was me thinking that alpha = old school alpha and not today's more common PR usage of the phrase. Now, I should B&M since it was my idea to go with the whole "tiered beta" for Dark Age that drew so much ridicule when announced and then became a staple. So, no pot calling the kettle black here.

Thanks. I had not seen any info on it but I can tell you -- there is a good deal of interest brewing for this among my pals and I am sure MANY others. Why not show our support in teams right!

The funnest part is its usually the guys even younger than I am that bite, guess its a by-product of trying too hard to be a "DAoC vet".
But I'm not really a DAoC vet (only recently tried it out) so you got me to bite but I may have not been the fish you were trying to snag.
Good lord, if 35 is old I'm in a world of trouble...
Now GET OFF MAH DAoC LAWN! ;P
Agree Edany, 35 for me was a while back.:P
So obvious some people never been in a alpha test lol.
Hint: IT is not fun and the 250 is better.

Mark, did you mention when the "TBD" for KS tiers will be determined? Before KS launches hopefully...
