    Try this:

    ftp://ftp.rfgamers.com/pub/rfgamers.com/RF_Philippines.exe

    Hope it helps :-)

Edit: I can't confirm that this client actually works - I downloaded the game myself via Bit Torrent. But the file size is the same, so I guess it does...

TIP: Before you even install the game set your windows clock to +8 GMT, reboot. Then install the game.

TIP: Patching is slow. Sometimes you have to let it sit for 4 to 5 mins before it will actually start patching.

TIP: Force (aka Magic) is the quickest way to lvl. If you start a new character that isn't a mage. You'll be force to buy your own starter spells and staff. (Starter spells cost about 55k each) Where as if you start as a mage. You get two free starter spells and a staff for free.

TIP: If you are going Specialist. Do not even bother raising Melee PT. Go with Force or Ranged. As a Specialist you have poor HP. After about 20 when you start grouping. Mobs have a funny aggro system. They only attack people immeadiately around them. After about 25 or so the mobs hit too hard for you to be within striking distance of. You'll either A) Die in one hit or B) Spend 90% of the fight chugging potions just to stay alive. Melee Specialist usually don't get groups outside their own clans or groups of friends. For that exact reason.

TIP: First thing you want to do is save up enough to buy 3 more backpacks (not 4 as you will get a free one from early quest). The more space you have the more loot you can carry.

TIP: If you are going melee. Strongly consider being Sword/Shield only. Tanks are a valauble assest for grouping after 20. If you don't want to be totally sword/shield. At least get it raised to cap before each lvl if possible.

TIP: Decide which PT's you want to raise before you get too heavy into leveling. (PT's i.e Short Range, Long Range, Force, Shield, etc) It is near impossible to raise a PT skill that has fallen behind after you hit 15. The xp gain towards that PT is so small, and you'll be doing so little dmg that it will take forever to raise.

TIP: Force = Fastest way to lvl, Melee = second fastest, Ranged = Slowest. Though Range is slowest. The ranged classes in game have big pay off laters. (i.e increased movement speed, ability to set traps, and stealthed)

    In War - Victory.
    In Peace - Vigilance.
    In Death - Sacrifice.

Played it till lvl 9 yesterday. Gameplay reminds me of Lineage 2, while the graphic is like of GW. Even though I enjoyed playing it, I don't think it's a game I would play longer than three months.

Btw: Is there another way to increase the view distance than with the option menu? I got it on max, but can't see chars/mobs over 6m...

If you're lvl 9 you're nowhere near discussing the game in terms of overall gameplay.  You don't have much to do at lvl 9 exp lvl. :P  The game content really comes alive after lvl 25.  When you can officially participate in Crystal Wars.  Lvl 30 is the mid-point I guess for most people to be thinking of evaluating the game.  Although it would only take me 3 days to get to lvl 30. :P

About the overhead view.  The one you're talking about is the satelite view.  It's the view where you can't change the camera angle, and it stays fit to that certain screen.

I dun remember how but there's 3 different keyboard setting you can make.  One where you can wsad and jump...one where you have quickslots set with the number keys, and the last keyboard setting that is same with most MMOs.

The only way to have active camera view that makes your view range wider is to scroll with the mouse.  If you're on 800x600 or 1024x768 resolution, you're view of range at max is gonna stink.  If you want wider range of view, you should go higher than 1024x768...but good luck.  The game does eat alot of RAM.

GRIND sucks? You wanna be max level in a month?

It's obvious that this wasn't a review of the game, but more like my first personal impression. I didn't think it was necessary to point that out, since I did mention that I am just level 9 and that I play it since yesterday. It is clear that you can't review a MMORPG of an objective point of view when you didn't intensively play it. And for my first impression, it just seems to be an asian grind game, but with good graphics and good gameplay, which makes it enjoyable to play. But for me, personally, I just can't play these games longer than about three months. And this is, as mentioned often already, just my personal first impression of this game.

since every game out right now is nothing but an asian grind game... is it more or less enjoyable than the other thousands of asian grind games?

I got in too, well I got the email, still downloading the client, do I need a activation key? I didn't seem to get one in my email.

well I got in too, but there is no way im going to download this from torrent at 42 kb/s.

the linked version someone gave above didnt work, patcher says that it needed to be re-downloaded.

on a side note, for all of you who are still wondering... iNDi summed it up the best. Gameplay does resemble Lineage II a lot, but with better graphics, and some improvements to the gameplay. Although, I did test the game out on a less than sanctioned server, it was still enough to show me that the game has some interesting features behind it. Early game is nothing but grind... even with speed... but once you level enough, there are some pretty neat things you can do.

Give it a try when it hits NA open beta, and you wont be disappointed. It has to be one of the best 'asian grind games' to have come out in a long while.

Because you need to change your Windows Clock setting to +8 GMT before installing the game. It has been said many times already.

I made a acceria and im lvl 8 warrior right now but when you say force is the fastest way to lvl and regardless of your class at the beggining you should buy those spells but I cant? It seems as though acceria cant use spells? It doesnt seem theres anywhere to buy them

. Then i decided to try out a Cora and there a spell shop right in town. Im assuming acceria cant use any magic? But isnt that kind of unfair? Is there a special bonus they get or something?

Yep Accretia have no Spiritualist Class to speak of (Magic user). They excel in melee combat though. At 30 they gain access to launchers. Which are single handely the most annoying weapons to us Bellato. Though Melee isn't as fast as Magic. When it comes to leveling. It really isn't as slow as some would leave you to believe. A dedicated Meleer can make good progress.

Accretia are never taken lightly on the battlefield regardless of them having no true caster class. They hit harder, naturally have more health, get movement bonuses later on, and have better defense then the other two factions.

Accretia are for people that love to hack and slash their way to victory. They also possess above average ranged classes.

Bellato are for people that want a good mix of Melee, Magic, and Ranged. Bellato don't really excel at anything, but can do most things.

Cora are for people that love magic. They excel at magic. Have decent Melee classes and average ranged classes.

    In War - Victory.
    In Peace - Vigilance.
    In Death - Sacrifice.

Small sidenote regarding exping as melee/caster:

I fully disagree that the caster classes have advantages over the melee classes. The point is, in a team solely the tank gains PTs in defense, and PT are actually more important than levels. So while the casters are increasing their level and force PTs while grouping, they still lack of defense in the end, and need to solo to get their defense up.

heh I live in the US and played the Sneak Peek just fine. It will be the same for Open Beta as well. They aren't going to be doing a region locked till the game goes retail. As per their deal with the developer of RFO. Anyone could play the Sneak Peek and Open Beta.
