"News just in! DnL will be delayed another year, resulting it's release in April 2007, and SoG will be released November 2006! Be patient, sorry for the slight delay."

really delayed for one more year. Even if they delay Sog, i hope they let it more beta testers, so at least the lucky ones get to play Dnl

    Good news.

I expect to see a release of information tomorrow with possible start of the game, but more than likely the game will start this weekend.

If they are smart they will release it in the middle of the week. Why? Yes, some people would be pissed off, but since they've never had this many players trying to download and login at one time before, it would be a mistake to release it on a weekend. Too many people will be trying to do everything, and with their untested hardware it could end up to be a disaster.

Even releasing it on a thursday would be better than a friday or weekend.

Anyone willing to start an online journal of DnL with pictures and info when they play it so I can get a feel for what it's like? No internet here, nor the funds for DnL or any online game or form of internet service... image

I think if they were really smart they'd put the client up for download as much as a week before they actually released the game. That way everyone would have plenty of time to download it - there would be no rush.

Yeah, but I'm getting kinda annoyed with their tardiness on everything. I've come to learn "this week" usually means Friday or Saturday at the earliest, "this month" means the very last day or possibly even next month, etc. It's frustrating because I'm paying for my other MMO on a monthly basis (which is more expensive than purchasing 3-6 months at a time.) I keep cancelling it when I think DnL is coming out (so I don't have to pay for a month that I won't play) and then I have to reopen it when I find they've postponed it again. My account runs out again this weekend, so I really hope that they'll make the announcement before then, so I know what to do.

Listof, Sheista is right when saying that it should be release when theres not so many downloading. Why? Ok, if they release the download week, or something like that before, everyone would have it when they start the servers and sure crash. That's their point to release it same day than the actual game (not sure if they do so, but it would be smart), because then there's no mass rush login on server and they got time to monitor the stress as people get it downloaded and login.

That's why they should have a stress test. If they run into huge problems like crashing servers, that's their own fault for not testing it. I've played several games before that offered their clients or updates for download a week before the update/game went live. Everything seemed to run much smoother like that than the games where they tried to release and go live at the same time. Everybody knows that there will be some issues (lag, server full, etc.) when a game first goes live, I don't think most people would get upset by it - as long as they don't completely crash. Anyway, as are most conversations about DnL at this point, this discussion is useless, because they haven't released any info on how or when they will be releasing SoG. So everything we say is mere speculation.

Has anyone from AD confirmed that this is a release date announcement? For all we know, it could be about something entirely different. I won't get my hopes up till I actually read a concrete release date.

They tried to lessen the blow so to speak by saying that the full game will be release in 07 and  SoG this week. Its very good in my opinion and very bad. Having people play SoG until they feel it's an actually game and "boom" Dark and Light actually comes out and their characters are gone. But then they are the full game to start playing on, good for many bad for some.

To be truthful I don't think this April 07 is true until I see for myself what the developers say then I will belive it.

What I wrote before is just in case it is true, confusing but I think you understand.image

Well, maybe when it releases next year...

For now I´ll coment my experience in SoG as soon as I get it, and if you want screenshots, then I´ll post them.

Listof you said "Anyway, as are most conversations about DnL at this point, this discussion is useless, because they haven't released any info on how or when they will be releasing SoG." Actually they have informed that they will release it via bittorrent so it wont stress their bandwith hardly any when people are trying to get it. Whatsoever stating that they have not informed any info about release date is true, but they should soon... All we know now is here http://www.darkandlight.net/forums/showthread.php?t=24699

Well it is friday with a week and a half left in this month. After following the game for several years now and reemembering all the missed and dates 2 things are on my mind. Number one will NP3 blow it's fans off again and say "oh we did not mean this November,  we meant next March" and number two suppose the game is a steaming POS as a lot of the beta leakers say it is?

From what I have seen it isn't going to be, but if it is big deal. We have six months to play SoG which is free and will be a smaller version of DnL. Don't like it, then don't buy it.
