Thanks for the Heads up Demon. After looking at the classes I have to admit that its pretty much what I expected. I knew there wouldn't be any fireball chucking wizards or healing type classes such as a Priest.
It'll be real interesting to see the details on these classes when they come out.
I'm really looking forward to hearing about how background will affect your class too, and whether there are a certain number of backgrounds that are specific to class choice.

I like there system, it's original. I'm thinking of being on Elven Hunter. Also if possible like Guild Wars where you can have a secondary class I think I would go with Lore Master.
Im taken back on the lack of mages. Though there were only a few in the plot of LOTR, a certain amount should be allowed to be made. This would make the game very interesting.
The classes seem pretty similar, well the first 3 anyway. It sounds like this game is really going to push you to party to survive. Hopefully this will not have seperate instances like guild wars however, It would be nice if it were like WOW in the battle sense.
I really thought they should have included a salesman class., or secondary class. This would have been very interesting, being able to actually set up a sop in Gondor or Rohan.

The lack of mages threw you back? Lore-Master and Minstrels are as mage-like as it gets. In my opinion WOW has way to many magic based classes. Unlike contrary beleif LOTR is a lot more like the real world. Those who stay at what they do and focus at it get rewarded. Throwing a fire ball isn't a little thing, its complex very complex. To be like a WOW mage in LOTR would require you to be like a Maia.
They would probably make salesmanship as a profression, just because it really is better to allow warriors to stop and work at the towns, and for workers to become warriors.
Also if you notice in LOTR there's only 2 Wizzards, Gandalf and Saurumon. Also the rest of the magic is bast on Elves, as in Elrond giving power of for sight. Really only those with rings of powers.
Right, there are very few wizards, but you forgot Radagast the Brown and there were 2 other Istari but we don't hear much about them. I'm sure there will be useful magical items, like elf-cloaks and such, but in a subtle kind of way. That is how magic works in Middle-Earth, it is a subtle part of everything, but great deeds of magic are only done by those with authority and power, such as the Miar and the highest of the Eldar.
All other features of this game aside (good and bad) I think it will be very interesting to see the dynamics that develop from not having fireballs flying around everywhere.
Ya I never mentioned them well because I was refering to the movies but good point. Also I was watching there trailers and items have diffrent effects on your hero. Some people were disapointed because of the evil race but you can get evil items and they will change the battle style of your hero. It's a pretty sweet system.

IronOre - Forging the Future
Champion's are cool but I prefer heroes with bows.
