Note: I am not a 'fan' of any of the above titles. I *used* to be a fan of SWG but they nuked that with various changes in the past 6 months and currently I don't hold a subscription to a single SOE title. That said, I will still state that saying that a company like SOE, who hasn't got a single unprofitable title, is 'failing' is silly.
I already dismissed you for having no credibility now I can dismiss you for being a liar. Why does your user profile say this?
Currently playing: SWG, EQ2, EQ1, PlanetSide Gotta love the Station All Access Pass.
This is just too easy. Any other SOE apologists/fanbois want ot take this guys place since he has nothing else to offer?
I'm just curious.....who did you think you were fooling?
If I were to trust anyones word on this forum it would be that of Elnator. As long as I have seen his posts they have always been unbiased and well thought out. If I was to call anyone a liar, sir that would be you. For some one that jumps on the bandwagon after already not liking SWG you sure do talk a lot of shit. Your quote says a lot.

Refresh my memory of when I lied. Did I say I wasn't subscribed to any SOE game then come to find out I have an all access pass like that other fanboi?
Get back to me when you come up with something, ok pumpkin?
aww is some wone getting a wittle jewous? I don't need to prove to anyone that your a liar, but mark you as untrustworthy. Since this is the internet, it is quite hard to prove someone a liar if they use their words carefully. I can however brand some one an untrustworthy person which is quite similar to a liar. So don't get so jelous and try harder next time okay pumpkin?

I do hate SOE, but at least it's for good reason. It's because, in multiple titles, they've made more broken promises, more terrible patches and implementations, and more awful nerfs then I have ever seen in any game before. Let's take the new NGE for the SWG system. Utter, complete decimation of an already buggy game.
Honestly, SOE has cockslapped me too many times with horrible decisions, and I'll be damned if they ever see a cent from me again. You don't have to always listen to your veteran players, but SOE's seemingly sheer hatred of any constructive input or criticism by their most dedicated players is just appalling.
By the way, funny thread of people "appreciating" the NGE. See you in hell SOE~

Ok this is going a bit far. I have *never* lied on this forum, or any other. I really find it offensive that you would claim such. As I said in response to your LAST snide remark regarding this my 'bio' hasn't been updated in a very long time. I updated it when you pointed out to me that it still said I was playing those games. To be honest I don't even recall when I originally put the fact that I had an Access Pass in but I do remember doing it a long while back, I think it was sometime in May... I don't pay much attention to my profile because I could really care less about profiles.
But since you're curious...
My station pass status is: Subscription Name Station Pass Subscription Period Monthly Price $6.95 Account Status Closed Orig. Purchase Date February 19, 2005
Have a nice day.
FYI: If I had 'recently' cancelled it the status would show 'cancelled - expires on blah blah blah' or something like that. It's "Closed" which means it's beyond whatever my last billing cycle was.

I just don't get how they have so much credibility as a games developer. EQ2 was bland and boring, how that has managed to get 500k subscribers might have to be one of the mysteries of the century. I can only think they include the all access pass. So people who are subscribed to it, SoE can automatically boost their subscription figures for all of their games. EQ, they made some really bad expansions and completely changed the game. There seems to be a belief that people would keep on playing no matter how bland the environments, mobs or items. Which to an extent was true with some people "addicted" to it. In the case of SWG, I honestly don't know what that is like, the fact they made so many changes sounds a good thing as obviously to do something must have been going wrong. So in a way, I feel sorry for some of the developers behind the change to get the uproar they have.
I think once a game company starts to become too big and own too many titles, player resentment begins to set in and spread within the community. Why that is I'm not sure, maybe people get bored with the company's formula for games or something.
If SOE were smart they'd start creating small game divisions within SOE, like 'Company X, a division of SOE'.

Not true at all really, this is all from reputation. There is also a bunch of Turbine haters now because of them shutting AC2 down. They're nowhere near the size of SoE but they have gained a reputation.
I think mmorpgs are a relatively new business scheme. The trends of how customers are treated are only just really beginning especially as new companies like Blizzard are entering the market of mmorpgs. Forums, as the media for interaction has become the new communication path for companies and they've having to adapt to that. As well as dealing with the dissatisfaction of a service rather than a game which most of these companies are used to, which is really a whole new ball game.
Honestly, for SOE, it's just the fact that they, to me, have made it very clear they care only about the profit, and nothing more. Before anyone else says it, all corporations are out to get your money, yes, but the trick is to deceive your customers into thinking you at least give a damn what they think. I know that sounds bad, but it's true. As long as people think they have an opinion that matters in the world of the MMO, they're usually content. It's when companies shit all over their opinions and hopes and goals that they feel betrayed, and hate the company.
I personally think SWG is a shining example of SoE's complete lack of interest in their customers. Let's make numerous patches that don't fix what needs to be fixed, incorporate new additions that nobody wants, and then give the gameplay a complete 180, and even change it from an MMO to an FPS.
Also, in addition to that, let's make numerous corporate deals with EQ2. Not to repeat old stories, but how about the /pizza command, or the Station Exchange, or even the credit card that rewards you with things in EQ2 for spending real life money?
Sorry, that right there is when games start to interfere with reality on a serious monetary level, and that's a good enough reason for me to hate any company.
Waiting for something fresh to arrive on the MMO scene...
I won't be buying from SOE for a very long time. I still have a really bitter taste in my mouth from EQ2. In my eyes, it was a complete rip-off. I got it straight after release. I paid $90 for the box and played for 3 months at $20 per month. Most of the game was either buggy or flat out broken in sections. I'll never go to a shop and buy a MMO client again (I might pay a token fee to cover costs). Now if any company wants me to pay to play, they will have to bank on their game being good enough to keep me there. If they wanna charge me for the client, they better make playing free like every non mmo game out there. My server in EQ2 was full but their were fewer players on it at one time than I could find on a Battlefield or CS server. Not MMO enough. Instances couldn't handle the same number of players a FPS server could. /end rant
But back onto SOE, a question. Does SOE have any MMO's they have created from original concept and not licensed from a existing franchise like Star Wars or bought out the company that created the concept? That are highly sucessful I should add. I never played EQ1 but they stuffed it after they bought it and EQ2 was stuffed from day 1. SOE keep banking on the name of their products to attract subscriptions. For the forseeable future I'll be banking on SOE's name to know which games to avoid.
"Well I hope SOE get's kicked in the balls hard from this experience, not because I hate SOE, but because I hate the way they are handling their product."
Quoted for truth...I don't hate SOE, but I do hate what they did to the game. It was just poorly managed, poorly developed, and poorly tested...but that's not the fault of SOE as a whole, it's the fault of the dev/QA/managerial staff that is in charge of SWG. After I cancelled SWG recently I immediately downloaded EQ2 to give it a try...no malice towards SOE, but unbelievable malice and disgust towards the SWG team.

See we live in a system called, "Capitalism" and "Freedom of Speech". IN this system, companies that make bad products are avoided by either:
A) Bad sales, which leads to less profits which leads to less advertisement.

Game disscusion fourm is better then the soaps currently
New starter kit 19.99 being released Nov 22
the goodie personal travel device launch ships from anywhere
fourms going nuts
The chatter is
With release of nge, in order to go from 80- 90 you need expansion 19. 99 questing since group exp nerf in nge or bug of no experaince
next there is no hot fix or patches announced for the massive bugs with nge
and on top of the expansion the starter kit finding out what goodie is
They don't need anyone bashing them they are doing a pretty good job all on there own lol

You know swiftflow, its hard to take someones arguments to SOE wholeheartedly when they have a phrase in the avatar area that reads
"SOE = 1 million pissed off customers and counting"
SOE might be bad, but there are worse, you need to control your temper better.
I think it's the objective of your past self to make you cringe.

I dont know how you can screwup a STAR WARS theme, but they did.
