LucasArts, thank you.

If not for the LucasArts games in the 1990s, I would have never opened up a computer to understand

it's hardware and functions. 20 years later, a great career and family life because of  those first few steps into the

tech side of the home computing world.  A decade of great games, thank you LucasArts.

LA did a few good things, but that was a long time ago. Its probably just as well that they've been shut down, will they be missed?

    probably not. image

LucasArts got me into all kinds of video games from RPGs to RTS games. Indeed, they will be missed especially if stuff like Star Wars 1313 never bubbles to the surface again... sighs, I can understand wanting to focus on the new movies but does that honestly mean everything that are outside of the new movies, ie the expanded universe, should discarded at the wayside?  I don't think so.

That "everything" is very large.  There is no way to save every media art ever made but Star Wars is def a classic.

Are we not paying the same price we issued on the generation before us?  I am sure if you resurrected an ancient Greek philosopher he would want to know what we saved of his world.  "Dah, nutn.  Would you like a pop tart then there sir?"

If we can manage to avoid war and famine we might develop the technology to store data eternally and these media works of art would be viewed in cyber theatre on space stations some day.  God save the libraries and keep them free.
