So in just the past few weeks we've had another dupe, irreversible loss of skills (no backup), no stress test and AV is just starting to ask for role feedback. Launch in 12 days... Insanity

    I blame the players for this game even being a possibility. You should have voted with your feet long ago forcing this terrible company to go under.

    Troll attemps and slandering the game are quite different than discussing the game.

    Whilst you're changing the OP you may aswell remove anything that's repeated and consolidate them into single bullet points, remove insignificant fluff features that are missing and things that AV never intended to have in DFUW in the first place?

    Chaos cities were never intended for DFUW, no need to make a point of it as if they were.

    The world was remade to saying NPC cities or Cities/Hamlets were removed or changed isn't a "missing feature".

    "Chat system is abysmal. The old chat system was vastly superior.
    Can no longer link items in chat.
    No more coloured chat.
    Can no longer resend messages or view sent message history.
    No more trade channel.When starting to type in chat due to interface lag the first few characters are normally cut and need to be retyped. Also causes many miss sent messages into Global. (Default chat channel)
    Can no longer type "<" in chat meaning no more hearts in pms "<3". Also causes the next line to appear on the end of the current line.
    Can't copy and paste from chat.

    Although I'm pretty sure some of the above is fixed, the chat system does need work and is possibly the downside of the new GUI which in general is pretty good. But if we're being honest here I don't think you'd need more than a bullet point to say the chat needs tweaking.

    Wildlife, Funhulks, Shulgan Drake, ingame lore and barbers... not a huge deal at all. Good lore always improves games but DF1 had less lore than DFUW so :s

    Party system worse? No only having a leader invite is better than the old system of any ninja inviting w/e they want. Being able to kick players now is a clear advantage of the new system however.

    You should really move anything that is an OPINION from this list. It doesn't belong here.

    Quests removed? Are you kidding me? The prowess system has given us a hundred fold more 'quests' than DF1.

    Political overview exists.

    Transmuting items is in enchanting, that's a singular point. I do miss enchanting however.

    Mounts handeling the same as each other, just like DF1 isn't a missing feature.

    Duping was fixed ages ago.

    Many lines to say weather is currently disabled (not sure if it still is)

    Monster AI isn't 'unchanged'.

    The other starter cities could be written off in the lore, for example the alfar cities were destroyed if I remember correctly.

    Safezone size has been debated hundreds of times. They're a small amount of the map and progression is limited there + a timer for reprotection. This is not unfinished content.

    PvE comment in an opinion.

    Testing has been done on holdings/villages.

    Sieging has been tested.

    There's a reason for the name Unholy Wars, read the lore.

    Monsters still immune... blah blah fixed ages ago.

    Statues of old models are just ancient remnants of the old world, not unfinished content. (The statues are new after all)

    GUI is pretty good although chat and banks needs improving. Mostly an opinion again.

    You're not forced to use different classes to level stats, prowess levels stats.

    Slower combat is liked or disliked more than DF1 through personal opinion.

    Class balancing is ongoing in any game.

    Class abilities are done.

    Bloodwalls are not viable... read about prowess for leveling.

    Smaller world was by design.

    Tutorial lasts minutes, not a major problem.

    Describing debug's effect on movement, although movement has been improved.

    Chaos chests are as intended.

    Input delay fixed.

    Quicker to be competitive than the original DF1 by a long shot.

    Crosshair wobble has been addressed.

    Crits aren't a major problem in an MMO.

    An opinion about water combat.

    Armour/weapon racks have been fixed.

    Polearm knockback is not a major problem.

    Blackpowder mats are fine.

    Siege equipment is supposed to be expensive. Not a major issue.

    Having to destroy walls isn't a major problem with the game.

    Potions may need tweaking but a major problem :s ?

    Holdings have been changed through-out the beta and adjusted.

    Another comment about GUI repeated.

    Stat requirements on gear is not a major game issue. Opinion.

    Food system is fine. Probably changed since this was made 4-5 months ago.

    DF2 being more demanding is to be expected, it has more updated graphics afterall AND IS IN DEBUG (x3 clients running at once)

    Radial menu comments are opinions. Some people like, some people don't, some say they take a getting used to.

    Transfers are already being addressed.

    Melee ability part is an opinion and not a major game issue.

    Which I couldn't get in the thread b4 closing.

     

    Back on to this thread though. Honestly the game is in a good condition but could use another month or two to have dungeons/markets in before launch for testing. If they come out at/shortly after launch very flawed it'd be a bad thing for the population :s

    At least half of that list exclusively compairs UW to 1.0. While it is the re-make, why should you expect a to be launched MMO to have the same level of content and polish of one that is 4 years old? UW has its share of missing features, but AV has said for many months and even before beta that some of it just simply would be put in place after launch.

    So there you have it folks.  What AV has spent the last 6 months on?  Well they have been catering to the vocal trolls on forumfall.  They should have been working on the content that was to be released but instead had to deal with a torcha nd burn forum policy, including those people comming here to trash the game every time something didnt go their way (strange the biggest DF supporters would do this...but it did happen)

    So now theres a new leveling system to prevent these people from botting skills up, since they didnt impliment a FPS style insta max system.  They wasted months on fixing crosshair wobble and the crosshair shape because this was more important to the vets than having all the content. 

    Basically a majority of the time since the winter launch attempt and now has been to quell the old vets (who imo ruined 1.0 and solidified its destiny as a small niche game) and to prevent the old vets from botting their skills, so much so that they completely changed the nature of the game and removed all the interesting passive skills (you dont get skills and stats from running around or jumping or getting hit anymore) and removing direct skill gain from active skills (now you what amounts to currency for doing stuff and then you buy the skill)

    All this effort so that 1vs1 duels can be fun and fair and that the vets have more of a quake style combat system.

     

    When they should have been porting the DF2010 characters and armors into the game (the current models were confired place holders to speed up development) all the racial cities (still missing race cities is kind of a big deal imo) and still missing a hell of a lot of content.

     

    Hats off to the 1.0 vets who are STILL angry despite they derailed development to get what they wanted...and they did get what they wanted, wobble fixed, crosshair fix, the game has been dumbed down and its super easy to progress now.  Gratz!

     

    Personally even though i have paid my $15 for the game and get a free month, ill probably wait for the game to finish before actually playing.  Im not all as excited as i use to be, this game is no longer a sandbox, its no longer  "hardcore", and what use to be a very entertaining DF community has really been put through hell and back with the game and no longer interesting, mostly concerned with trying to trash the game for not being what they hoped.  In fact i dont think the game is how anyone hoped it to be. 

     

    Big mistake by AV making the game to serve the 500 or so vets that were the reason the game was so dead to begin with.  Should have stuck with the sandbox and skill gains, should have kept the game classless, should have been tough with botting and just banned those players.  Finally they should have focused the remake on adding new content beyond pvp encounters and trying to fix the old issues with 1.0 as most of the old issues were revolving around a near non-existant population.  I think the end result is that AV is going to have the same exact playerbase they shut down 1.0 with...Sadly all the community feedback revolve around issues that dont matter, missing the main lack of content outside of pvp...

     

    In its current state though its nothing like Darkfall in any way.  Its more like if Planetside 2 has magic and bows and you got to keep the base you just flipped.  Battlefield MOBA i guess.
