Darkfall Launching On Steam?

So we were told back in Nov/Dec '12 that while Darkfall was "ready" they were going to delay launch in order to polish it up further and most importantly, with being Greenlit on Steam, to allow for time to work out the details so that DF:UW could launch on Steam as well.

 

So almost 4 months from their original "Ready to Launch" date, will Darkfall be on Steam come April 16th, or was that all just more AV lies?

 

Don't get me wrong, if they actually ARE launching on Steam and that was the reason for the delay, I think it was a VERY good reason, as launching on the most popular gaming platform for the PC gives them thousands of times more coverage than they possibly could have hoped to have.   But as an original DF Player from day 1, I know historically at least 90% of everything AV says regarding features, readiness, and launching things are lies.

 

I'm just wondering if the launch delay for Steam was a rare truth.

    If steam also launches on the 16th it will be a disaster, the servers can't handle it.

    its gonig to be a disaster anyway.. they may as well speed that process up..

    We’re going to make the launch announcement later today with a launch date of April 16th and we wanted you guys, Darkfall’s hardcore supporters and critics, to know it first. We realize this is short notice announcing 2 weeks before, it’s not our ideal scenario and we didn’t mean to be ninja about it, however it was difficult to get this window to open up where everyone including our partners are on the same page, and we decided to grab it rather than risk having to delay another couple of months.

    Im going to assume one of there partners are steam so yes i would expect it to come out on steam on the same day, if not it be delayed by a few months until everytghing lines up again.

    True, this is AV we are talking about here.  No matter where/how they launch its probably going to be a disaster.

     

    I was just curious, specifically, if their statement about delaying the launch so that it would be ready for Steam was just another lie, or if DF:UW would be on Steam come the 16th.

    I say no, it would have already been advertised on steam.

    No it won'T release on the 16th on steam.

     

    Steam news from 3rd April:

     

    On April 17th, Valve will announce the next batch of games and software titles to advance through Steam Greenlight, and be offered worldwide distribution via Steam.

    So they will announce on 17th when DF comes on steam

    I doubt it will release on the announced ddate. I don't think it is ready for release as it is now.

    If you care to read the posts in the thread, it's a release now so it can be timed to be announced with the next wave of Steam Greenlit games the following day. *dunce hat*
