some nice ideas but curious what can 15k really do? he talks about hiring a team to finish the game but for 15k?

I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg

If you see the "Milestones" the amount goes up quite a bit. So hence i believe he lowered the asking about to not dicourage people. He also stated if he needs more money he is willing to get some loaned to him.

Also he has also stated that the "Heavy Lifting" is already done and the networking is complete.

Whilst I love the concept and really want to financially support it, especially due to the similarities with SWG, there's a little voice in the back of my head telling me not to do so, and for good reason. Personally, I've heard the promises all before. Earthrise was a prime example from which I tested very early on indeed, it quite literally promised everything - and more. Open world PvP, FFA, full loot, vehicles, playing supported economy.. sounds great, however in practice it absolutely flopped.

All I've seen so far is a couple of "pre-alpha" videos that give absolutely no insight into the features that are currently apparently complete and available in the game. Crafting, combat, housing, vehicles. It's a very empty shell that I fear is no where near complete, despite the claims of Ethan.

Earthrise failed because of bad development , bunch of bugs and a ton of missing content.

Start out small and expand on that. Concept is nice, but will have to see whats comes out of it.

Based on the video i believe the guy is speaking from the heart and I would definitely support his cause, but I'm just not into Sci-Fi mmos, I like dem fantasy worlds with mythical races etc.

Who's to say Divergence won't be the same? Atleast Masthead had a team involved in development.
