Asian based mmo

no, not made in Asia, but a game based on ancient china or japan.

stuff like martial arts or samurai

"but ashkent, there already are games like this" - DO, Fung Wan, and a few others...

yeah yeah, but they're crap, made by korean game companies with no budget. have you played these games? i have, because its something i'm interested in. most of them have crappy graphics, no storyline, bs quests, and no community.

i'm ready for a company with the budget and technology to make a game like this.

    The only game I can find is Tatsumuki Land at War.  It takes place in Fuedal Japan, and the features are very promising.  They just finished thier alpha engine and they are already trying to sell pre-orders.

    the game looks like crap.

    and that explains why...sounds like a bunch of kids messing around

    Ofcourse it looks like crap its in alpha, have you ever seen what a game looks like in alpha.  This game hasnt even been in production that long.  But what they have for an alpha engine is pretty good compared to most mmos.  Even the precious Worlds of Warcraft, because this games landscape is actually textured.

    Also its the only non-Korean Asian based mmo I can find.

    i guess you missed the part where i said a company with a budget needs to make this game.

    dude, they need people to PAY for the alpha so they can get things like SERVERS. come on...

    The only one i know is Martial Heroes... I really haven't heard of any others. It only has one server so far, but they are making another. I may be wrong with the whole ancient Asia MMORPG thing, but thats the only one i know, so at least try it...(if you have windows)

    Then why are you on mmorpg.com if you don't want to pay monthly fees? I think gamespot.com is what you want.

    Then why are you on mmorpg.com if you don't want to pay monthly fees? I think gamespot.com is what you want.

    i guess you haven't noticed the plethora of free mmorpgs on this site and listed in the forums

    as far as i know, there aren't any real good Asian based mmorpg's. the one i would advice is Ragnarok Online. tough its not really an asian mmorpg, about 60% of the towns/monsters and items are based of asian history. www.ragnarokonline.com  i know its not entirely what your looking for, but i think this is your best bet. sigh, so many good memories.

    If you liked Ragnarok Online, then prepare yourself for Ragnarok Online 2.  This time they have a multi-million dollar budget instead of 500k.  This time you can jump, plus there are some actual features that arent in RO.  Can you imagine WoE in a game with awesome graphics /rice

    I don't get Ragnarok, Japanese anime styling, but RAGNAROK! It's a norse tale of gods and myths and stuff, it's confusing me.

    Ragnarok Online 2 will be such a big letdown. everything that made RO Special will be gone. the real anime style and cute looking towns will be turned into 3D structures. the whole point & click and fast action will be gone as well, and changed to slow combat. no longer actually work for a class and be happy with it, now you have the horrible system of turning into any class anytime! RO 2 is going to be just like other mmorpg's. nothing special about it. and WoE in 3D? Lineage 2, 'nuff said

    I dont think you understand that a game doesnt have to make sense to actually be popular.  Its like when I ram a cliff at 322 meters per second in a flight sim and I just bounce off and take some damage.

    edit- but RO's towns have always been done in 3d.  Also I know that the 2d sprites are driving most ROers away but they arent trying to make the same mistake as Turbine and target the same Audience.  They are making alot of revamps, like they re-implemented being able to make 10 attacks a second cause it showed it in the preview videos.  It uses WASD controls, and it has a Hot Race.  Totally for the same audience that enjoys WoW right not.
