Floating Icons Over Enemies - No More Ambushes....

Per the DF forums what are people's thought on this lovely feature?

"I wanted to know what those of you who didn't preorder think about this feature. There are shiny, rotating red circles floating two feet over the heads of any players who are in a clan that is at war with your clan. Want to duck in a bush or some tall grass to ambush someone or hide from them? Too bad. Stealth has been removed from the game. If you've played the first Darkfall, you would know how fun and useful stealth tactics were."

LOL the absolute dumbest design decision ever made - tells you how half-assed this game is.  There goes any stealth - you can see em a mile away....

    wow that really is shitty.

Before I think the icons were reserved for your party/group members. and noone outside of the party could see them.

It is really dumb if this is true.

It is true  - I am working on getting a screenshot of it....  Imagine now you cannot sneak around in a bush or anywhere trying to set an ambush up.. You just ride around are like hey there they are - see the big ass icon over there in the bush.....

How does this design decision reflect at all on the effort the developers put into building this game?

Not too crisp but here is the blaring red icon...  If you join any siege you are automatically declared as enemy to the other side and thus the big red icon...

It is to help distinguish who the enemy is in large scale battles where it is most needed, otherwise when hundreds of players are committed & are clashing in the city being sieged (which is the reason they usually go to war for in DF), there will be too much friendly fire and no one will know who is who in all the mayhem, which was a problem in DF1.

I agree it does ruin stealth but I think the developers care more about large siege tactics rather than ambushes from bushes. Hide behind a tree?

Did you even play the game?   Anyone knows that you would turn down all the grass/shrub effects anyhow...

This game is built around territory control and large scale sieges and battles.

It runins some stealth while people are at war. You are only at war during sieges. Stealth in the open world most of the time is still there. Another method should have been used and chancs are this will be removed and replaced by something else EVENTUALLY

Deerhunter, why don't you just move on?

seriously... if you need a red icon over someones head in a seige you are doing it wrong,,, most of these people SHOULD be on vent and be at the least paying enough attention to know what their allies look like in game.

Execpt, there aren't any ways to distinguish friend from foe expect the icons because AV removed distinctive racial features and there isn't any dye for armor.

Why do you care, you are not going to play the game.

We, the ones that will play DF, think it`s a quickfix, and we deal with it. It`s far better than nothing in the big battles, as long as we dont have any clanmarks or dyes. AV do listen to their players, but they react slow.  I think you should play your favourite games, and let us have this one. Darkfall is clearly not your kind of game
