How can I level up now if I don't have trials of OB1 with that exploit quest. I started to play shortly before new comabat system, and I am stuck on lvl 60 now... I don't whant to do bol missions for a year just to get lvl 80...
Is SOE doing anything about exp?
Comments
Nope, they aren't doing anything about XP.
They are supposedly going to patch in more quests "soon" (TM). I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. You are just one of the thousands of players they left stranded at their current CL with no means to advance.
Funny.... didn't someone on this very forum dissagree with me when I said exactly that in my Review? Something to the affect of:
"All vet players are CL80 so they didn't leave anyone hanging"?
HMMMMM
Seems I was correct and the person posting (without thinking) was incorrect.
Sorry you got stranded and I feel for ya. The only thing I can recommend for you is 1 of two things:
1) Start another char on another server and play that till they patch in more quests so that you can advance (because you won't be able to do Mustafar at CL60).
2) Cancel your account.
Me? I'd choose 2, the current game sucks now. It is horrid and has lost everything that made this MMORPG any different or better than any of the competition out there. But option 1 is out there if you actually enjoy the changes.
Have a good one, and I hope that SOE takes care of ya soon. I just don't have a lot of faith that they will.

Just some math - I need 250k exp to advance to lvl 61, and I get 375-400 exp per kill of lvl 60 mob. That means, that I have to kill some 600 (solo, cuz I get only 150 exp even if I kill lvl 90 acient kyrat dracon in group) mobs or so just to get lvl 61!? They have to do something about that cuz, I doubt that even hardcore x-box gamers will go for that in a game where everybody is lvl 80-90...
My only sin is that I started to play SWG only month ago and now I am being punished by SOE for that....
Did those quests, and I can't order OB1 trials, cuz it's digital download only.
Is there anything like quest Mustfar? Maybe somehere on Kashyyyk?
I can afford it, I just don't gave the right credit card to do that. If It would be in a box, I would order it... I am not leving SWG, cuz I still like it, and allmost nobody of my guild did not leve it... I gues I will scout the planets and do quests now, since there is no posible way to lelvel up.
Well I needed some 3 more days and would be lvl 80 too if had time to do grinding on bols.
It is just a another masterpiece of SOE. I can't imagine any L2 player or any other MMORPG spending month on geting lvl 61 form 60, when everybody runs around at lvl 80 ( cuz there was some new patch ). I even didn't play much SWG in begining cuz there were few low lvl platers and 60-70% were lv 80.
Nthnaoun,
Please be factual and don't use dated information. It takes next to no time to reach 50 in DAOC now. Most MMORPG's have gone that way because they realized that forcing players to grind through months of time to get to the higher levels just alienates the casual players. WoW, EQ2, Ryzom, even Lineage II has relaxed the grind. (Though L2's grind is still horrid at high levels). It takes maybe a couple months to get to 60 in EQ2. Takes a few weeks in WoW... takes a couple months in DAOC now... L2, from what I understand, takes at most 6 months now.
I recently went back to DAOC and was stunned at how much the game has changed (it's much better than it was 2 years ago).
He's screwed. SOE put in this patch without making sure that existing players could play. They KNEW this change would eliminate the ability to level without quests and they completely ignored their current players with this update.
OP is screwed until such time as SOE comes out with additional content. He MIGHT be able to do some Mustafar quests but I doubt it. Sure *Some* of the Creatures are only CL62 but the quests take you against multiple CL62's... not just 1. And most of the quests take you up against much higher CL nasties :")

2 choices:
1) Cancel (I would)
or
2) Play another toon till SOE gets around to adding content for mid level players.

So those games are allowed to take a couple of months to get to max level, but SWG isn't allowed to? The XP rate before the NGE was way to generous, it took people less then a week to get to 80!
It's not like there's nothing you can do at these mid levels, alot of people miss the inbetween content like the Warren. Alot of the quests on Kash would be perfect at the midlevels as it'll be a rewarding challenge to do. You won't get XP for them (well not for completeing the wuest, but the critters will give you some), but you might find your self having fun, which in the end, is what you play the game for

NONE OF THE OLD QUESTS GIVE XP. There is NO WAY for players between CL30 and CL70 to level. Grinding is godawful slow, comparatively. There are no meaningful Quest Rewards for any of the CL30 to CL70 older quests either now that items have been changed. Though SOME of the Kashyyk stuff is still 'ok' much of it is now garbage in the new system.
So you're saying that it's ok that SOE gave CL30 to CL70 no quest content worth doing, it's ok that they just left those players swinging in the wind?

I see. You could use a check card if you have one of those or if your not an adult you could have your parents use theirs. It is safe. Anyways, glad to see you are sticking with it. It isn't impossible to level up, it will just take a while. From what I hear the quests are messed up because they haven't been set up to compliment this new system. Good luck to you.

Elnator I was just recently using information I experiance myself from DAoC. It was not dated but recent. Recent being within the last month. For a hardcore DAoC player using instances, you could definitely reach 50 in a month. For casual players playing maybe 20 hours per week, it would take several months. I have Catacombs so I can speak from experiance on this one. I loved DAoC, so don't think I was insulting their game. I was using them as an example because they are a good company and good game, which takes a casual gamer a long time to level in. In my opinion taking a while to level is the whole point in an MMO. This is one of the huge things that makes MMO's never ending. There are other things such as PvP and Raids, but we all know that leveling is where you get most your content or where you spend most of you time in the game.

I don't think you are listening Elnator. He did say that there wasn't a xp reward for the quest. He only said that he would get some xp from killing the critters along the way. You may do quests for rewards and xp only, but I do them for the story. Items and xp doesn't make or break a game for me, it's the story.
well you can either have level-based content or you can can have a meaningful endgame content (for example the PvP in DAoC).
Personally I would prefer a combination of these two possibilities - DAoC is going in the right direction here, I think.
But as it is now in SWG you dont have any content except the first 30 levels of the legacy quests and the lvl 80-90 mustafar bug-quest. Thats about all the content you currently got in SWG...^^ And thesecond one is not actual content but rather another way to grind.
In a game, that has been around for 2 years....oh yeah
Even if the pre-NGE quests worked, you are still left with nearly no content (for a 2-year old game). What do we got, let me try to sum it up: Kashyyyk Quests, ToOW Quests, Geo Lab, Deathwatch Bunker...
Thats the current vision of Star Wars from SOE. After two years
Interesting.
I find the battlegrounds a LOT more fun than killing npc's all day. And over half my levels are from levelling IN the battlegrounds. I don't play very much and I'm screaming along through the levels so far. I play maybe 6-7 hours a week, if that and I'm levelling 4-5 times a week without doing much of any "XP grinding". Since you get XP for RVR kills I get lots of XP there so I haven't needed to 'hunt' in the PVE game at all.

Yes I found that BG grinding is the funnest also. DAoC in my opinion the best made and implemented game made to date. I wish Mythic would make Star Wars. The leveling as you probably know slows down alot after 30. Have I tested the leveling from BGs past level 20? No I haven't so I couldn't accurately say whether or not someone will take forever leveling in the BG's from 1-50.
It took me 12 hours of gameplay to reach level 80. Granted this was hardcore grinding but I would definately say that is too generous.
That said, El is correct, there is no way to get from level 30 to 80.
The flea quest is not the only one that gives you XP, all quests on Mustafar give you XP. I think you'll find that if you did all the quests on Mustafar without repeating one, you'd end up at level 90 if you start at 80. There are many quests there that give 170k XP and more . But yes, for the record I do agree they need to add stuff to the core planets that lead to nice XP gains for the level 30-80 grind.
