At least get someone that does not sound like he is falling asleep any minute or is overdosing on vicodin. I don't know but he does not sound excited about his own project at all. These Videos are awful and you all know it.  Originally posted by Raunu [mod edit]

In 3 years would you rather have a month trying a game you got on the cheap a long time ago, or not?

    You said not, fair enough.

In three years I'd rather have the ability to make an informed decision about how to spend my money on a product.

You said you'd prefer to base your spending habits on whimsy and buzzwords, fair enough.

Have fun if the game comes out, whatever year that may be.

    Gotta agree here.

Was a big fan of DAoC, the game was a ton of fun. However, if I'm going to take off the rosey glasses and look at the reality of the situation, it's this. MJ has worked on multiple projects since DAoC. He's had his shot at rebottling that lightning. We could argue to death about what went wrong, but at the end of the day, it didn't happen.

Now, he wants to do his own thing, which I applaud, but he's offered absolutely nothing that leads me to believe he knows what he's doing. Some of his statements that were clearly an attempt to gain support for CU, have backfired and make him sound like an out of touch idiot.

He says a lot of lofty ideas, and if he could pull them off I'd definitely play the game. However, ideas almost never play out the way they sound on paper. We've had a host of RvR influenced games since DAoC, and they've all been mixed bags. Perhaps if MJ spent more time talking about the current problems with RvR and practical solutions he's come up with, he'd have better luck gaining support for his game.

I keep seeing these posts.  The "I really like his ideas but I dont know if they are going to work" comments.

I just dont get it.  I dont have a crystal ball either.  MJ isnt asking you personally to donate 2 million dollars.   You only have to pledge $25 to get a copy of the game at launch.  If it doesnt turn out like you want and you dont like the game "oh no, too bad, youre out 25 bucks".  You'll spend more than that going out to eat.

I've seen people on here asking for every crazy thing from a mostly developed game to getting to see CSE's financial books before they'll donate.  It just seems so silly to me.

Its an idea, an incredibly interesting idea with a lot of smart people behind it that can only become a reality if this kickstarter succeeds.

If it actually did fail it would be because of all the people who keep saying they find the idea so interesting but think putting in anything at all is "too much of a risk" for them.

And then the executives over at EA and all the other big publishers are going to say "told you so, gamers just want the same dumbed down cloned crap we've been stuffing down their throats", and that will be all we'll get for the next 10 years.

The last 2 Videos, seriously? A video about people sending him ducks, his excitement jumped right out of the screen (/sarcasm).

It almost put me to sleep but what followed was an uninspiring, dredafully long winded video about some conceptual idea about some dungeon with RvR and mines and forge and some other veil stuff , whatever, i spaced out after that. One picture of a logo to back up his great idea. One that showed dick all. I had to switch off the video half way because i just could not take it anymore.

I remember other Projects that got me excited by showing enthusiastic videos of eager developers with cool things all over the place, people in the company getting interviewed, jokes and at least some interesting screenshots and content.

This guy is just doing my head in. I just can't take another video of him unpacking ducks and talking about his great vision. He comes off like a nobhead.

Good luck to the game but i am out.

If The Depths didn't peak your excitement, then nothing will.

If you prefer devs telling jokes to actual information then I'm not sure exactly what to say.

Expresso gave me a Hearthstone beta key.....I'm so happy :)

Everyone to their own on whether or not to support the KS...

I think most people are backing the concept/dream more than a playable demo or game mechanic...  It is only money... If you want to whine about wasted money... Go to twitch and go to the WOW sections and see how some of these streamers are getting 10's of thousands of dollars for watching people raid!!! LOL

I'm a backer and hope this project comes to live.. I personally have PVE and everything about it..
