average 30 FPS everywhere I go..

Crashed 2 times so far, both as the game loaded up, not sure why, but I sent the crash reports..

This is not a horribly optimized game imo.. My PC is kinda on the low end and this is a game that I can rock...

And that is exactly your problem....your CPU. Although it shoudl not be, it isnt a bad CPU, it is just that darkfall, or aventurine, I should say is retarded.

DFUW is the most CPU intensive game I have ever seen. If you ctrl alt del you will see 3 processes running. The problem is that it does not support multi cores so you have those 3 massive processes running on 1 core. So you need top of the line and you CPU is a few years old. Mind you it was a great CPU 3 years ago, but today it is just medium. DFUW requires great.

Now, dont take this as me siding with them, just pointing it out. It has a major point of contrntion in the DF beta forums for months that this game is so incredibly CPU intensive and Aventurine claims it had to do with Debug mode, which is not the case. The game is poorly made and run in a very inefficient manner.

lol.. you replied to the wrong poster.. heheh.. I can play problem free.. Feel free to try again, my friend..

Darkfall runs exactly how I need it to... It's not like Planetside where I can only muster out 8 FPS in any situation..

How is everyone only reading my FPS problems?

FPS has nothing to do with the multiple bugs I mentioned.

    Typical bumbling end-user .

"Derrr no one else has this problem but I have the problem.  Obviously the cause can't be related to me!!!"

The VAST majority of players since launch have had few if any of the types of problems you talk about.  The beta was PLAGUED with problems, but the last few weeks before release AV resolved them.  And anyone who actually had an issue has been able to get it resolved.

Also, I know people who have lower specs than you and get decent FPS.  The minimum specs for the game are fine.

    Uzik isn't being entirely honest.

The high-lighted area above and the link below seem to be at odds with Uzik's statement.

    https://forums.darkfallonline.com/forumdisplay.php?71-Technical-Support

Not saying that Aventurine hasn't fixed a number of issues since Beta started...

which by the way what was Tasos' quote on that when Beta started back in early Dec.:

"For the record, what’s left shouldn’t take more than a few days longer."

So anyway, take a look at the Tech Support part of the official Forum and see if anything there matches what you are experiencing.  If not, then make a new thread and see if someone there might be a bit more helpful than Uzik was for you here.  Some DarkFall players forget that without new players continually coming into the game... it will soon become the empty wasteland that the previous game was.

Good luck with getting your problems fixed.

Having read most of this thread, it does seem like people degraded pretty fast.

What I noticed right off is this type of Phrase and it literally says nothing.... I meet the minimum requirement. Or even this on....I exceed the minimum requirements.

If I had a dollar for the times I have gotten that response, I would not be rich but I could eat a lot of good lunches.  The problem with this type statement is it is a blanket statement.

LAPTOP due not meet minimum requirements even if they say they do....no one asked the man what his hardware specification were before this became a degraded and bitter attack.

Even if it is not a hardware issue, you have the background tasks and software.

Then there is always the driver version being used...and no I do not mean the LATEST DRIVER.

I do not play this game but was drawn to this topic when I saw the ""Do not Buy this Game!""

I do agree, if 100plus people have no problem, the few that do are unique.  You have to figure out what is different about those few that causes the issue.

But if your one of the few, it is an issue on your end or it would be happening to even more people.

He has been asked multiple times for HIS exact system specs. He refuses to post them, GEE I wonder why. The fact is this kid is looking for a refund on a game he doesnt want to play anymore. Instead of fixing the problem he wants to get his $50 back and spend it elsewhere. If he wanted to play the game he would figure out the actual issue, or do what is in his power to help himself. Instead he bought a game, realized he doesnt want it, then is asking for a refund, using a weaksauce excuse in the proccess.

As you suggested yourself, let's be rational. Can we see your EXACT PC spec first ? I understand you run it on a PC, not a laptop.

I think this guy is trolling tbh.  The OP to be specific.

I paid my $40, downloaded the game and started it up.  I tabbed out to check my email and the game crashed, tried again and tabbed out causing the game to crash again.  Had to switch to window mode to do anything, which wasn't a problem really.

When I finally got in game there was a huge red box where I assume a tip box of some sorts was supposed to be.  The game was very choppy and my FPS was much lower than any game I have ever played.  After some emails with customer support they have refused to refund me even though my issue hasn't been resolved.

I should have known better than buying this game after seeing the shoddy web design and terrible user interface.  I'm out $40 but I made an account here to hopefully save some other people some money.  I've read plenty of posts about the game being buggy but I made an account anyways.  It apparently works fine for most people, so if you don't mind taking the chance of burning your money give it a try.  Otherwise I would stay far away from this game and any future games this company makes.

I agree the graphics engine is the game's weak point but I'm not having any crashes at all on my rig (quad core but nothing fancy).  The UI isn't terrible, that's just your opinion. I find it awesome, aswell as the combat, character progression and open world total freedom...once u get used to them.

Lmao my system works fine with the game, of course it's launch there are DEFINITELY going to be some issues. But not TOO much in my opinion. The game is addicting and very fun playing with your buddies. It's definitely got me hooked right now :)

Got a free copy so decided to try it out, with an Nivea card I had to update my drivers to get it to work properly but it runs quite smoothly on my machine which is far from high end these days.

I have encountered a a lot of bugs but nothing game breaking, as I thought this game is not for me but that's my personal preference, the game itself is playable.

Expresso gave me a Hearthstone beta key.....I'm so happy :)

I know that it seems pretty straight forward, but do you mind QUALIFYING these statements with Hardware specification?

I would reccomend waiting to spend money on this also. I have yet to actually be able to play the game at all since buying and downloading it yesterday. First the game hangs after pressing play on the patch screen and then it shows you as having an active character playing (even though I do not have an actual character and the patch screen shows the create character message). Visit the official forums to read all of the other people having the exact same issues if you doubt me.

Nothing but problems for me since purchasing the game 2 nights ago. Game runs like a really bad alpha, and don't event get me started on the nightmare of a GUI. Even if half the things worked, nothing would be user friendly in this game.

    Save your money/time.

-Frequent Crashes followed by 'Account in Use' for 30 mins.

-Terrible lag on various computer specs.

-Unable to connect at all even after waiting in queue. (Multiple days)

Here's a thread on the DFUW forums that several users are experiencing.

You've all been warned. Don't pay into the developers scheme. Game is nowhere near ready.

They took what was a mediocre sandbox game and turned into a dumbed down open world pvp game, nothing more, nothing less, i'm sorry but i can play much better games for free that requires less bunny hopping and more actual skill to play.

The login error was hotfixed this morning, I'm not sure what caused it, as none of our guildmates had this isue.  You can see the last users posting on the thread you linked verifiying they can all log in.

The only time I have "crashed" was the first day when the server actually reset, and I stay online 14+ hours a day while I am at work afk farming, which includes going through the starter areas where the population is the highest.

Can you post the specs of the computer you are running?

Also there hasn't been a queue at any point that myself or my guildmates have logged in, even on server ups......

  • BurntvetBurntvet Member RarePosts: 3,465
In many places in the US, as part of consumer protection laws, it is held that if a product "should be able" to be run or used on certain piece of equipment, and can't, despite the products being compatible and meeting minimum requirements, that product can, in cases, be considered "defective" and a refund is warranted. (Note: this does not only apply to software, but other products as well). If the OP can still not get the game to work adequately after tech support help, the company may be obligated to refund his money. Otherwise, a chargeback on the CC is also a solution.
  • kriminal66kriminal66 Member UncommonPosts: 82
I wish but they have a no refund policy. I was stupid i should have listen to the people with problems instead of the people defending the game. I have just about every mmo and this 1 game freezes every 15 sec or so ping jumps to 5000 not worth the head ache to try to play like watching a slidshow. Hell this game in my book falls way below war z  and war z was shit lol i want to play darkfall like the concept but dev team or who ever just dont give a shit about it.
