Humans like sex so sexy sells. Kind of a no brainer.
I tried the game (I try to try as many F2P games as I can) and while it does have adult themes and the toons are dressed in next to nothing its just a typical MMO, albeit a basic one. The story dialog made me chuckle a few times though and I think the storyline it self is sort of interesting. More than likely won't be returning to it though, just not as complex as I like my MMO's to be.
If you don't like sexuality in ads then you must be a pretty upset person every time you turn on the TV or your computer. I have to admit, while it the opposite doesn't offend me ether, sexuality in ads isn't nearly as bad as violence. I'll take sex over death any day of the week.
Being a mature adult while at the same time trying to promote gaming as a normal hobby for normal people I find the advertising on this site to be counter productive. Firstly to my mature and adult nature these adds look pathetically aimed at 'hormonally charged, desperate pre sex male teens' and secondly because of their nature and patheticness I cannot reccomend anyone to this site to show that online gaming isn't for sad, lonely, basement dwelling virgin nerds!
The adds on this site are just sad. Both for people who get excited in them and for online gaming in general.
Wow. It must suck being a mature adult then, if you don't like looking at hot girls any more.
Luckily, I am in my 40s, married with kids, and still like looking at hot girls. I am an adult, but I guess not "mature" by your yardstick. I'm not unfaithful. But come on...if you are a hetero guy and don't like looking at hot girls...check your pulse or something...
Or check your orientation...
I like looking at hot girls, but thats mainly cause I'm lesbian. I don't care for the monsterous boobs much, guess thats more for the males.
If ads like these really bother you.. I recommend never turning on your tv, going to the beach, and avoiding any and all billboards you might drive next to. Also, if your argument is that it might make the site 'NSFW'.. maybe you should try working. If you have time to complain about advertisements based around sex, then you're either a hypocrite or a member of the westboro baptist church. We're surrounded by things like this constantly in our daily lives. I just.. don't get it.
Honestly, I fail to understand why people are getting so worked up over a crappy game. "It haz boobies!", so what? If I remember correctly, so does Age of Conan; yet I haven't seen people coming out of the woodwork denouncing that game. So the ads are suggestive, again so what? It's not like there aren't a ton of suggestive ads on the net/tv/tadio; so this game in an of itself is hardly unique. Plenty of other games have better "boob physics" too, yet no one is complaining about those games. Oh that's right, even though there's lots of bounce and weave, there's no nudity. Pshh, like another respondant said I'll take nudity over gore.
Sad truth is I might have been slightly more interested in the game if the UI didn't make the game almost unplayable, for me at least.
Am I the only one in love with these ads? I'm afraid to refresh the page, I DON'T WANT TO SEE MY FAVORITE ADS GO. Yes, I have favorites amongst the ads for the game. (;

I don't have a problem with how characters look because I'm used to seeing aisan games to have almost naked female characters with boob size "infinite DDD".
what I find funny are the sentences following those ads like:
"it's getting hot in here so take off all your gear" - made me chuckle because, well, they really are almost naked
"cozy up to a mature fantasy mmorpg"
"prepare to get whiped.. who's ..."
...
...
oh why am I typing those quotes? XD
I don't have a problem with those ads because there's no harm done to anyone but the aeira games.

1. People see advertisements in Web browsers? And yeah, I am serious...guess you fall out of touch with reality 10+ years after learning about the magical...host file and hostname lists.
2. People still getting offended by cartoon "skin"? Is it because of the clevage because I sure dont remember being offended by the Age of Conan adverts with the barbarian in the loincloth...
Your thoughts. I'm not even going to give my opinion first.
I want to see how people feel about these.
It doesn't bother me at all. I've never seen an ad on MMORPG.COM that has even remotely offended me in anyway. Can't quite understand why these ad's would offend anyone. I love to look at the Scarlet Blade ones.
Why someone would get offended by such beautiful artwork is beyond me. I often browse and comment on many different art websites on various forms of art and different artistic expressions. I feel the human form is one of the most beautiful art forms there is. There is no shame in thinking something is sexy or attractive. I was once ashamed and offended at such things I viewed, but I delved deeper into my mind and quickly realized I was actually attracted to such things. The very things that once offended me.... anyways I better not get into a long winded ramble. I probably already sound half cracked lol.

Oh wow, please stop being self-righteous. A mature adult would not be quick to judge other people, especially when it comes to trivial things like this. Really, you just made an offensive and blanket statement, and you think that's the hallmark of maturity?
And I'm sorry, but, when people use that "you're a virgin so you're pathetic" card, they're usually compensating for something.
I like that the ads are honest and reflect actual gameplay and content, we need to encourage that imho.
About them being NSFW, i think i would worry more about my boss catching me on a website for games during work then looking at softporn. Worst that could happen is he calls me a weirdo for looking at halfdressed women on the internet.
The point is you see ads with gore / violence all the time with zero reactions .
Show something that shows less than you'll see on the Victorias Secret huge billboard in the front window in the mall and you get the puritans in an uproar.
Somehow wounds and blood is ok for work and the kids but bikinis are not.
I hate it when a reported post gets quoted because I have to see the crap again. Seeings someone's asinine comments littered around a forum bothers me more than anything. With being unfortunate enough to read someone's slander on a virtual daily basis, why would I care about an ad that tries to appeal?
I vote keep the ads and permamently ban people for making hate comments against race / religon / sexual orientation / etc.
All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.
I get banned in the forums for games I love, so lets see if I do better in the forums for games I hate.
I enjoy the serenity of not caring what your opinion is.

Hmm... they use the "censored" ad images on here
Website front page:
Thanks for posting the pictures. Ive blocked most of the stuff that mmorpg.com can send to me because of this kind of garbage.
I am truly disappointed when there is any other ad on my screen.
i like the ads too, and they show , what kind of game to expect
some of them are pretty close to the limit though
but compare it to NAZI ZOMBIE ARMY,,i think thats worse

I find them a little cringeworthy.
The game reminds me of lad's mags, which are only bought by people who can't reach the top shelf.

Exactly, reminds me of those "My Lord ... " ads that misrepresented some MMORTS
I sometimes make spelling and grammar errors but I don't pretend it's because I'm using a phone

It's comical -
