looking for something to keep me playing

I played all day saturday without any sheer enjoyment at all, i kept trying to get to something that was fun for me.  The problem seemed to be that everything is easy mode, i just follow the path and kill dumb 2 hit mobs....Can someone please tell me if that's all there is in the game?  Also,  is it entirely based on "being in the city" and no real world at all?

I havent played the game myself. But i have watched and read alot of reviews. It seems group oriented play is where it gets more challenging. However even with that the mobs telegraph everything with glowing red circles and such. Which equates to easy mode from what i have experianced. What happened to games where players had to figure things out? EQ1 EQ2 hell even early WOW.

Whats up with glowing areas for all the big attacks.

That being said I have seen in videos group getting wiped. But rarely if ever.

I am still debating if I want to try it. I probably will give it at least a shake though.

Well the solo play is pretty straight forward, if you are a MMO vet yeah you will have zero issues.

The lair of the mad dragon will be your very first taste on just how HARD this game can be. Its a lv 35 dungeon.

Also there are countless amounts of foudry quest where they go out of their way to make them HARD.

And of course PVP will always be a challenge. ...But you played all day Saturday the game cant be too bad right? :)

The first half the game, up to level 30, pretty much takes place inside the city of Neverwinter. At level 30, you get access to your Paragon Path, and really start venturing outside the city walls. As someone mentioned, at level 35, you can go to the Lair of the Mad Dragon, the first "serious" dungeon delve.

The game opens up in many ways at level 30.

But if you want to try something really hard, open up the Foundry and make a quest :) Make it as difficult as you want!

When a gamer completes a foundry mission then what type of items will be their prize?.

Loot from the Foundry is randomized dependant on difficulty of mobs faced and time spent in dungeon. There's also a daily or hourly (they've been tweaking it so I'm not sure) Astral Diamonds reward for running Foundry quests.

Really hard fights= look there is a red circle on the ground, I wonder what happens if I stand in it.

So you mean there will be no endgame Elite weapons / Armour etc in these foundry missions?.

Then in my opinion the foundry missions are worthless, with no loot that you can use you might aswell not bother with them.

If the only thing you want from an MMO is a loot grind, there are probably grindier games than Neverwinter for you to play. Diablo is hella grindy, maybe you should try that.

The attraction to Neverwinter isn't a loot treadmill, it's the ability to make your own stories and campaigns and share them with your friends and an entire MMO persistent world.

-There are times during the day where Foundry content is worth 150% bonus XP.

    -Daily Foundry missions give 1,000AD

-Some Foundry missions are a lot of fun and a nice change from the standard quests.

-The Foundry will allow this game to have more content than any other game which and  this feature is likely the future of MMO's. This starts to address the big problem in MMO's in that once developer content is chewed through the game becomes boring and looses appeal.

-With no loot that you can use? Your reward from doing normal quests is random just as the foundry mission rewards are random. You can't pick your loot drops from either and I've got plenty of loot for my class doing foundry content.

Maybe the foundry quests aren't exactly what you want them to be but far from useless.
