Mark said he would be posting the video about founder points in todays update.  Does anyone know where this was posted, or was it pushed back until tomorrow?

He said he was unable to get the video done due to drama with amazon today.  Probably tomorrow morning.  He did post new FP items in the comments section but nothing official as of yet.

I do not like the blades and spikes on the instruments.  I really like the gargoyle and tail idea.  The pipes with the flames looks really cool.

TBH I think the notion of using an instrument as a weapon is a bit silly.  In my mind, a bard's lute for instance, is something quite treasured and precious.  Woud they really risk it by bashing their enemis with it?  *Shrug*  Semantics, really, but that was my initial reaction.

I believe the spikes would mess with the acoustic properties of the instrument.

Posted this on the ks update, might as well post it here.

The bards look amazing. I'm not the kind of person that usually would play that type of traditional "bard" class (IE buffing/support), however if bards look like the concept, which lends itself to them taking active parts in combat (IE how the musical instruments all look like actual weapons/magical instruments and this is carried over into the classes, I am very intrigued.

Just imagine being that guy with the flaming bagpipes, sort of like a mage, raining down destruction while playing the bagpipes, hilarious and awesome at the same time.

Then having that one with the big "axe" guitar, in melee range, chopping off heads and then strumming out a few notes.

Hah, probably reading too much into it but that is what I pictured when I saw that concept art.

I agree. They would only use it as a weapon as a last resort. Maybe their only instrument melee attacks will be short duration CC that gives them time to escape to range? Overall I would have preferred the speed classes be more skald like. But I could still enjoy playing one if it can be played like a caster that uses an instrument instead of a staff.

I like the new race better than the St'rm but I still don't think it's a style of race I am likely to want to play.

I really like the new race, I hope they will keep it as it is now, because it looks really cool.

Born as a berserker, I was also a hero, a bounty hunter, a paladin ,a troubador and a paladin once again during my Mmo''s experiences .. Now travelling in a galaxy looking for a new adventure

Whos to say all the speed classes won't be different? I don't think any concrete information has been released about these classes and likely a lot dependon stretch goals .. ie how many classes they target could affect how they mix and match abilities and skills like speed.

    yes and no IMO.

If it's crafted with the mindset of being a weapon, it would probably be more durable (and admittedly, heaver) than say your average lute.

Looking at the weapinstruments, I see them as more of a skald/minstrel sort rather than bard (to talk DAOC classes)

and of course, they won't be mirrors, so~

The bagpipes of Fiery Blasts is intriguing, but I don't care for the elf like features. I hope they make them more garoyley(sp?)

Thats the link to the Authurian bard art being made.  After watching it, I was really surprised at how fun it was just watching someone create the art.

Oh I'm sure they will be different after all no mirrored classes is one of the FPs. But they won't be able to be as different as in DAOC since Mark has also said no class other than the primary healers will have heals and I doubt he's going to make one of them able to veilwalk either like minstrels could stealth in DAOC. This is assuming they will be a separate 5th class in each realm. Obviously he could make one realm's primary healer its speed class, a tank in the 2nd realm, and a caster in the 3rd instead of adding an additional class in each realm for speed.

It also depends if they follow path A or path B :

Path A - Classes with multiple spec lines .. ie tank could be Tank shield user skills, dual wield skills, or maybe speed skills for one realm?

Path B - Have a class that does tank, one that does dps, and one that has speed / hybrid or however they handle it per realm

So many unknowns right now on that sort of thing, can't wait for class discussions, the classes define the game for me so i'm really hoping I can identify with a lot of them

lol Thanks for the Gargoyle pic. Yeah that's what I was thinking...more heavy, strong tough, not sleek and slender, but hey fantasy right? BTW it sounds like they are taking a lot of ideas from an old game I liked called Shadowbane. Lots of different classes, races mattered, stats mattered, racial traits mattered etc. Im really excited about that idea getting another chance. Really am sick of the cookie cutter everye one is the same.
