I've been watching Neverwinter on twitch and the game looks absolutly beautiful, and amazing - but what do you do at max level? I assume PVP? - I'm just kind of confused.
I love raiding, even if it's small like 8 man or 10 man or something. Possibly 5 if the content is great. Any insight would be great.

Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
Players have already made hundreds of dungeons or other types of instances.
There's an editor in the game called the foundry that anyone can use once they get a character to level 15. It's a content creation tool that is pretty powerful, but has some restrictions in the spirit of stopping some people from abusing it like they might with a traditional editor.
Awesome! Thanks for the insight.

^And this is one of the main things that attracted me to the game today. I'm not really digging the combat so far, but the enviroment and the starting city are spectacular.

yea same.. gear grind endgame isn't my thing and neither is arena type pvp.. so foundry till i get bored or they add some new stuff or something else comes out:P
I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If you enjoy leveling up and experiencing new content then NWO is amazing because quite literaly you never run out of things to do. Will it last? Who knows but for now its been a great game with amazing potential.
Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!
Subscription Gaming, especially MMO gaming is a Cash grab bigger then the most P2W cash shop!
Bring Back Exploration and lengthy progression times. RPG's have always been about the Journey not the destination!!!
You could run foundry missions to level up and get a taste of what others are doing.
From my experience, Cryptic doesn't make end-game per se. Which isn't really a bad thing, just different. I enjoy STO for what it's worth and will take my time playing every once in a while on Neverwinter, which really is just what you would get if STO and DDO had a baby.
In STO I have several of the C-Store ships and enjoy logging in for about two months out of the year when in between games, Neverwinter will have to share some of that time now. That there is the beauty of Cryptic games. You can play them when you want and walk away when you want without worrying.
Add in TSW, GW2 and Defiance and I have enough to keep me going for quite a while. All without a sub fee and guilt free.
The foundry is the biggest thing outside things they add in game themselves. Otherwise, it will be about leveling alts and doing some pvp at the end and just general standard MMo grinding.
Given the foundry works (which it STILL needs more work to really be an amazing editor, its quite restrictive and can be a pain to use at times if your trying for certain specific things) it can provide a lot of extra gameplay... though i feel it might only garnish occasional play. People WANT grind, they WANT to earn something, and I don't see that changing enough to warrent playing a game if they don't feel they are not gaining for it.
Great suggestion

I hope cryptic will keep patching in new content as well. This is the first MMO I have ever played when I have read/listen to the quests, read the lore and understand why the fuck I'm killing the mobs I'm killing.
I have always loved neverwinter, played nwn, shadows of undrentide, hordes of underdark, neverwinter 2, mask of the betrayer (but not the final expansion). And that it's the main attraction, forgotten realms and all the lore. So if cryptic keeps patching in new places to see, new stories for me to partake in, I will keep playing, and I would even pay for that.
With a subscription MMO you pay to keep what you have already played, with F2P you don't need to pay for the same thing twice, and that I think will keep the devloper busy. So hopefully, that will be my end game.
Stop playing? Enjoy the fact that it was f2p and did not cost you anything, and move on to locust the next f2p game.
The more good f2p games they make the more likely they are to kill each other off. Fine by me...
I think I heard/read something bout an adventure zone which you can explore at max level?
Is this implemented already or can anyone explain it? Think it also mentioned some mount doom or something which should be in that area.
As much as I like the concept of Foundry, it will not carry end-game content. Why? Because Foundry quests do not reward players in a same way that 5-man dungeons do. Unless that is changed of course. Currently, Foundry is making up for lack of alternative leveling zones, which is fine.
5-man heroic dungeons is the only end-game which is currently available. And that is perfectly OK. Cryptic will most likely introduce harder end-game dungeons, since I'm guessing Gear Score is not implemented for just a couple of hard dungeons.
Gauntlgrym 20v20 PVP with dungeon for winners is already announced and raids are being hinted, but nothing official.
Anyway, foundations of this game are rock solid and will keep casual people entertained for quite some time with content as it is now. It will be interesting to see what Cryptic has in store for hard-core crowd though.
How long does it take to get to 15? Faster Im done questing the better.
