ok guys i have gone out with my girlfriend for about 9 1/2 months and she finally found out i smoke.....
which apparently is a turn off.......
she told me i need to stop for my own sake where i in all honesty know im going to hell and i might as well have fun and have a less drawn out trip.
i will be in serious shit if i dont stop.
what products/techniques work.
anyone who calls me a moral deviant in this thread i will hunt you down....

when ones friend's family owns a ciggarette store and i had lighters cus i was a pyro smoking doesnt cost me anything....
literally i have never spent any money on it.
but it was a dumb thing to start......
and its been hard to conceal from parents, "social activist friends who are rats", and many other people.

Watching my father die of a stroke in front of my eyes when he was visibly in perfect shape and him being only 48 was the incentive I needed.

Roll up a piece of paper and put it in your fingers as a placebo and grow some balls. It honestly cannot be that hard to quit after only a year or two of smoking.

One of my friend used this trick : Find yourself 2-3 of your friends who want to stop smoking too, the more you are the better it is! stick togeter, go see movie, play videogame or just talk, anything that can distract you from smoking, also ask a close friend that dont smoke to watch after you...just in case that you loose it!When you cant take it anymore, GO take a walk, a shower, punch a wall ( well...it might work :P), call a friend/girlfriend or eat something! Try to dont think about it , because if you think about stoping smoking, you think about smoking, and the temptation will be bigger!
Try to stay with your group of friends, dont stay alone for too long, become bored and you will find yourself tempted!
You could try this
my brother stopped..but he had to start chewing to do it.
i guess its a little better anyway and you can do it anywhere, whereas you can smoke like...nowhere

As many other suggested, just will it to happen, go cold turkey. You seem to have a kind of fatalistic attitude, which definitely will not help you getting over it. First thing I'd work on is your outlook; when you think it's pointless or you're already going to fail, you will fail.

Yeah I prefer chewing over cigarettes cause it at least gives you a buzz and your parents cant smell it or see it, same with cops.
But both are stupid. If your gonna do drugs this early you should smoke pot, I mean it's still illegal (like cigarettes and chewing at your age), its alot less addictive than both and the high is ALOT better.

no im not a fatalist im a realist who just happens to realistically acknowledge the existence of god and happens to hate him with a burning passion for his "criminal acts of negligence resulting in the harm,death, or emotional scarring of an entire species"
but i dont think quitting smoking is entirely pointless i know i run a hell of a lot slower then i used too and it cant be good for my fighting skills.

If you quite just on behalf of your girlfriend then what will happen when you break up? You'll just start all over again. If you're going to quit do it for yourself or else you are just gunna make things even worse down the road.
My advice is try getting serious about a sport or some other very physical demanding endeavor.
Hockey? Basketball? etc. Maybe Martial Arts? (Muay thai , tae kwon do , jujitsu etc) Maybe boxing or kick boxing? Track , swimming , gymnastics etc....any of those are good.
If you find any of those that you love and start getting serious about it there is no way you will be able to keep smoking and pushing urself to limit everytime you train and compete. After a hard training session you should be too exhausted to even think of smoking or want to. You'll get too sick if you are to smoke from the terrible effects on your lunges to have any sort of future in an athletic sport that you may find you love.
Oh and stop eating 4 pizzas you sick man terrible.
the one thing everyone is missing here is and i know first hand you wont quit until your ready to quit smoking. im a smoker i have no problem with that but im not ready to quit and when i am ready i will put it down. its a mind thing and physical thing but mind plays a huge part. if you are truely ready to quit you will quit for yourself no one else.

Go to the hospital and ask if they can put you in state of coma for 1 month and a half, then when you wake up your Brain will have loose is need of a cigarette

you all seem to think its easyto quit. well in reality it is easy to quit you just have to want to quit. then you will quit.
RIKI just because someone smokes tobacco doesnt mean they have a addictive personality. its the chemicals in the tobacco that hook people. look it up read about smoking before just making random post just so people see you post.
motor how long you been free of the cigs? i will be more willing to quit in about 5 years until then no real reason to quit for me.
Ok here it goes:
I smoked a pack and a half a day for 15 years.I quit in 3 months time.I do not reccomend that you quit cold turkey it will not work for most people.This is a VERY addictive substance and is not easily put down.The method i am suggesting requires an immense amount of willpower.
Your 1st month:
1.Smoke no more than 5 a day.This will be 35 a week and 140 a month.
2.Dont use the patch or gum whatsoever(regular gum is ok it helped me a lot).Using this method the patch and nicotine gum actually deliver more nicotine into your system.
Your 2nd month:
1.Ok here is where we begin to ramp it up a bit more.In your 1st week smoke 4 a day.In your 2nd week smoke 3 a day.In your 3rd week smoke 2 a day.In your 4th week smoke 1 a day.
2.Chew gum like it is going out of style.
Your 3rd month:
1.Continue with smoking 1 a day through this month.Eventually you will see that you no longer need this to live on a daily basis.
It is human nature to want to see others fail.Any "smoking buddies" you have will want to see you fail.I know this from 1st hand experience when i quit.....10 years ago.These people are STILL smoking and a few of them are having health issues now.
Have no doubt that smoking is a filthy disgusting habit that is very unattractive.
Your buddies will tempt you.Here is what you do to remove that temptation.When offered a ciggarette simply take it and crush it in front of them.Once you do this and they realize you will not smoke it but crush it up they will stop offering.
The above method works but it requires willpower and the ability to stick to the plan.Good luck once you accomplish this you will be a better person for it.Especially if your parents own a smoke shop.Quit now when your young man dont make this a life long habit.
I know a a guy who started smoking when he was my age (15) he now has 2 kids (like me) but has lung
cancer.He has 6 months to live and will NEVER see his kids grow up because of his selfish addiction.
BTW i too was told my whole life i had an addictive personality.I dont smoke pot or ciggs and i dont drink at all anymore.The whole "addictive personality" is BS imho.If you want to quit you can do it.Dont let anyone else tell you what you CANT do.
