Don't buy beta access. Over 1,000 free keys being given away at Raptr.

I bought the $89 founder's pack, it's not a bad game at all in my opinion, just still very buggy, to the point where most items and skills don't even have names yet. Hold off for a few months.

Don't buy it. Just wait for some beta giveaway keys

Don't buy it. I've played beta and after 5min of boring intro and 5min shit boring gameplay I had to unistall it.

This is pretty much exactly what I did also.

If someone wants a key and doesn't have Raptr, let me know. Won't be using it.

I really wouldn't rely to much on input from people on these forums. Most of them seem like they hate MMOs, they tend to trash every MMO that's announced unless it's being made and published by their favorite dev/publisher. The only thing that I can tell you is to try an score a giveaway key, or drop the money for the founder's pack if you play other SOE games. The thing is you get station cash that's the same value as the pack that you buy, which can be used in any SOE game. Personally I hated TERA  and GW2 action combat system, but seem to enjoy it in DP a lot better. It seems more refined and the game seems to have more of an open ended feel to it. Meaning you can pretty much do whatever you want, but everyone is not going to like the same things. However as I mentioned most people around these forums seem to hate every single MMO that's out or about to release.

I liked the intro video. I like the depth of the game so..... I like the game and think it's worth it. I'm buying the $40 pack.

Its a surprisingly good game (in closed beta) however, it's not that complex that having access to closed beta would give you a massive advantage in terms of knowing the mechanics, quests etc.

I would wait for a free key and thereafter decide if to buy the SOE stuff

Personally, I'm not very amenable to paying for Betas, especially for games I'm not sure about.  The easiest way to know if it's a game you'll likely enjoy is to check out the various developer streams that are out there.  Then, if it's something you're intrigued by, the packages do seem like they'd be a good deal.  Especially if you play other SOE titles and imagine you'll have a need for spending Station Cash in the future, getting one of the packages is almost a no-brainer.

Common, the combat of DP is based on Teras combat, which is fine. In my opinion it's crap what you are saying because if you hate the combat of Tera you definitely won't like the combat of Dragons Prophet. It plays quite similar. Only the combo systems are a bit different (in the end the same outcome). And DP doesn't have good animations yet and the AI of enemies could be better (compared to Tera). Have to take into consideration though that Tera is a high budget game, they had more money for things like that.

No one should ever buy a beta regardless of the advantages. It's just so silly to buy something without trying it. I haven't tried it yet, I downloaded the game last night and got a Key from Curse (I think they are still available if you create an account), but buying a key to help them better their game with all of the competition around is ludicrous. Let them pay us lol.

I have YET to find a game that is worth BUYING beta access. Companies used to bring in testers because they actually cared what the testers thought, finding bugs, stressing servers, that sort of thing. Now, not so much...

If you are already playing an soe game there is not really any risk because they give u. Station cash equally valued to your beta package. Ex; u get the 40 dollar package they give u 40 in station cash.

If you aren't playing an soe game its a lot more of a risk obv
