I think smed should have just posted

All players are now enemies of the SOE.

he would have gotten flamed less

Im starting to feel bad for the guys, christmas is coming up and to have most if not all of your player base to turn on you a month before and to know that black friday wont help you at all has got to be a bad feeling.

You know you're in trouble when people post what they think on a heavy moderated forum like the swg forums is .Even the eq2 mods got hammered, they ( the players) basically told the eq2 mods to shut the hell up and go away ... and they did.

This does not bode well for them. I am all for you reap what you soe ( yeah it was a bad pun ) but you got to feel for the middle management guys who will be handed pink slips come christmas , the ones who had no choice. while smed moves on to run MxO or some other SOE project as he is really good at pushing all blame off himself onto others . This is what the 2nd or 3 rd game that went straight to hell after he took over? Wish i could work contrary to industry standards and practices and still keep my job, would make life easier .

Someone brought up a good point tho on the swg forums .. if the NGE does somehow get accepted it gives every other game out there the precedence to do this kinda thing .. toital revamp without player notification , lack of CSR support , etc...

I have to stand against the NGE for this basis alone I will not accept SOE practices coming from other game companies that decide SOE did it and survived so can we. its almost a given to stand against the NGE now from my point of view.

All i can say is it did not have to go this way ... there were many different times this could have been handled better.

I am still here on the forums, Smeddler, because I see a possibility, even slim, that someone at your company will simply strangle you to death in the bathroom.  Or that lucas arts will send out a hitman, or that -beyond all hope of hope- you will get a single damned clue that you have delivered a **edit** omlet with extra corn to your best customers...  the very customers that have reliably provided you with money that you WASTED on making that very omlet.  I personally reject the NGE and I reject your leadership of this project.  You have no place in the gaming industry and your future as an unwanted employee is assured if you do not resolve this issue. 

 

Your remaining veteran players have TOLD you how to resolve this issue...  you have under seven days.

    I totally agree a line must be drawn this far and no further. We are the paying customer SOE seems to just not get it. We must stand together and get what we want not what they think we want.

    lol had to add that edit on there .. i read that and was impressed .. no fear of reprisals at all from those posting on the forums . NONE. That alone tells you something is wrong with the communication from SOE to player base.

    Lol defintly I hope someone comes to their sences and puts an end to that fat Jackal or at least show him the door, and hire someone that will listen. In his greed he failed to execute one of the fundamentals of business "satisfy your customers and the money will come". He seems more worried with trying to satisfy the customers he doesn't have and hope we foot the bill for it.

    Improvements aside, he deserves to be fired. I don't care if they roll back to the pre-cu, he deserves to be fired.

    Drifted onto the official forums this morning to check up ona couple of mates. PM's were missing so I went off and had a read.

    Looks like poor Suleman has pulled the weekend watch again.

    Anyone seen Virrago or his regualr sodekick moderating recently? I mean, I've seen theheavies brought in from the EQ boards, but where are the regular cops?


    weirdness.

    Still. Watching the boards crash and burn is more fun than logging in atm.

    People aren't afraid to post such things because they have quit already. It's funny, two weeks ago had my RL friends asked which mmorpg to get I'd held a gun to their heads and forced them to opt for SWG.

    Now I just get depressed when I see it. Some vets stay, clinging to that last glimmer of hope that it'll turn out good in the end.

    How one can fail with a franchise like Star Wars is beyond me. PRE-Cu and Cu had shortcomings but we forgave the game because we loved it. NGE is horrible.

    PvP is a laggy boring deathmatch. After 10 minutes your wrists ache and after 20 you start to suffer nausea from the snappy camera and jerky animations. Still I see some kids who want it to be faster. And say that the dice based combat system had to go. Funny I see a lot of games doing just fine with it. Player bounties are gone too.

    No the game mechanics was just fine. All we needed was a GCW where imps would roll into Eisley with AT ATs and declare martial law as part of a storyarch like cries of alderaan. We needed more powerful Jedis but with harsher penalties should they fall before a BHs guns.

    If the management had only loved SW like we did...

    Maybe they can spice up the SWG experience a bit by making SOE an in-game faction.  Give a lot of people something constructive to vent on.
