Does this game really deserve the 4.3 rating that MMORPG.com gave it?

I mean sure, it may have some problems...but a 4.3? A little harsh I would say...

    I would have to agree that its an unfair rating, Im an avid player of the game as well one of the in Game guides. Every patch that has come out with this game has made the game so much more competive (with the exception of the quest bugs =-P) if you havent tried this game for yourself ignore the rating and give it a shot image

    That is true, apart from the me being a guide bit, yes, it lags to high hell, yes, the program is an unstable piece of congealed monkey ass (GU references ftw!) but honestly, it is a very fun, addictive game.

    i think 4.3 is far too generous... i would give it a 2.1.  the 7.1 player ranking is only that high because all of the ryl admins, gms, counselors and their families voted it up.  face it... nobody likes this dying game.  RYL GOT PWNED!!!?!?!!!

    The memory leak is one of the thins that made me quit, along with the lag, and the fact that everyone has stupid names.

    I would say ryl deserved the official score it got for the following reasons:


    1. The game is unstable (frequent crashes)
    2. The games quests are frequently bugged, and only has just recently been attended to.(still not fixed)
    3. The races are unbalanced. Akkan vs Kr. Kr usually outnumber the akkan.
    4. The 'grind' isn't broken up by enough interesting content
    5. The tradeskill system consists of a poorly thought out stat transferring and upgrading scheme.
    6. LoS and Targetting issues. I.E. netting or casting on someone who is stealthed.

    Allthough I am addicted to this game, it really honestly does suck, and has alot of issues. I can't see anyone rating this game very highly unless they hadn't played it well into the 80s.

    Personally, if you have 20 bucks to blow to try it for a month, it will probably give you a chuckle... but past that ?

    Having more numbers doesn't make it unbalanced... unbalanced would be if KR got skills that did auto 20000 damage from 2000 feet, while akkan got 1000 damage skills from 100 feet... Or KR got ultra high HP regen and akkan didn't.

    4.3 is a little low.. about a 5.4 or 5.6 would be more correct at this time. In the Slappy Era it was a much better time, there wasn't as near as much confusion or bullshit. I quit this game after I got fed up with the new mangement... besides all the other original people who I had became friends with, or were just hardcore had already left/leaving. I said goodbye on the forums and in less than an hour I got banned and my goodbye message erased... whatever.

    Yes Lag is a problem, Memory leak is a problem, But the biggest problem is the mangement of the game. They are so frustrating and over compestating. If they do something wrong they get on their knees and beg for you back... load of crap.

    And not all the GMs and Admins and Guides could have boosted the rating that much, since there's alot more people who HATE ryl, because they feel 'cheated', than there is Guides and GMs. Besides they'd have to make posts, and I really haven't seen that many by people who are GMs or Guides... maybe a dozen?

    Wow too funny. Anyone want a laugh ..search sphinxers name and check the blatant Fanboy flames he has subjected anyone who had an issue with this crap game. Now he repeats everything he denied for a year. Maybe next time before you abuse your fellow gamers for legit issues take the blinders off, rub your eyes hard, and give your head a shake.

    Personally, I loved this game when it first came out in alpha/beta. What I hate is that the problems (glitches, crashes, bugs) haven't been fixed, and they went straight into retail, which really sucked.

    Does it deserve a 4.1 rating? Probably not, but hey MMORPG rated it that way so it has to be legitimate in some way or form

    How about MMORPG rerate it in a month or two - Lots of lag/bugs are already fixed, the community has improved, and the memory leak is being fixed. Also the pvp system has changed and i think you should play for a few weeks to really rate it, not just a week. 4.3 is really low, the guy that gave that one ryl review didnt know anything he said stuff completly false.    image
