RIFT F2P Now, Not 12 June

in Rift

By 12 of June RIFT is going F2P, with an excellent F2P model. But you can play free today. You can have main game + expansion + 30 days of game time for free, as a reward from raptr.

This applies to new accounts only. Existing accounts will get the expansion, if they don't have it, but not 30 days of game time.

So if you want to play as a subscriber for a month and then continue playing completely free, follow this link

    At first glance, you don't even need a credit card. All I did was put in the code, and I logged into the client...and its currently downloading/patching. So unless it asks for one when trying to get in game (which would be weird, since it lets you login successfully in the client)...all you have to do is make a new account and your in. As long as you have the code, of course.

    All you have to do is make a trial account for Rift and make an account with raptr use the desktop app to log your 14 hours of gameplay needed to get the free game exp and 30 days.

    If you own Rift you can use the desktop app to earn the expac for free.

    I'd like to point out that it's not necessarily 14 hrs.. if enough people do it... experienced is the top 80% meaning you need to beat the 20% below you.

    i did this a few weeks ago. i assume anyone who does this would also get the veteran rewards when it goes f2p.

    It currently stands at 14 hours and everyone I know that has done it has had to do 14 hours to be able to claim it.

    i confirm  i got my rift game like that

    its still available but the question is  does it worth to start now or wait F2p cose

    atm  when i tryed , it was totaly emply at start and are they gonna open new server

    for new player?

    you get more character and bag slots if you own rift, also you get the expansion souls if you own storm legion, which means, im assuming, that the souls will be a store purchase.

    No totally sure what the plans are yet with shards when it goes F2P there is a broadcast at 20:30 GMT  on twitch about F2P. When it goes F2P there will be a lot more players for you to group up with, however there are plenty of people playing at the moment trying to get get the free game via raptr

    Yes all classic souls are still free but the 4 from storm legion will be in the cash shop. but if you have storm legion before it goes F2P you still keep them.

    I probably won't make it since I just registered now.  Oh well, I'll live, not a tragedy but if anyone has a spare key i'll send them my thanks.

    They said on livestream yesterday there wont be any new servers initially, they want to fill up exisiting ones, and only if absolutely necessary will they open new ones.

    Also, you do keep SL after this, yes(meaning, when f2p launches you won't be restricted from anything)?

    All content is free, and if you own SL and Rift, you wont loose anything, so enjoy :)

    You can still apply the key from Raptr to get the expansion.

    I do have 1 key left for the Rift+Expansion+30 days gametime, have got them as my raptr account is near elite and obviously I already owned the game and been playing since beta.

    Yep, all done. It was alittle over 400 at just after midnight EST. they were averaging 10 keys down every 5-10 minutes. You beggars are the primary reason. People beg instead of doing it for themselves (this has been posted in the forum well beforehand). They did the live stream and BAM! Suddenly everyone wanted one. It dropped from 2000 to 400 in the 13 hrs it took me to earn it.

     Why don't you two just give them away as it was meant for new players not for people to take when they don't need them and make something off them.

    Hoping theyll get renewed, in any case I don't have much to trade except DOTA2 keys on steam. I got a bunch of them which I'm willing to give for SL key(pref even 2 keys for me and the missus) Got 7 DOTA2 keys to trade

    Is there any point in signing up and doing the raptor thing now? I had the original game and to get storm legion I have to pay the full whack (rift+exp) and the monthly sub coz I want to play now, before it goes free to play, looking for a game myself and nephew can play together. Wow or rift and I figured rift as we are both likely to buy ESO when that's released.

    they said they will make no addition to raptr rewards until at least 12 june. then we will see.

    the game population increases every day and there are mostly ppl who get the raptr reward only. no returning subs yet, no free users also yet. i m waiting for 12-6. things seems it will be a fairly large amount of newcomers  and returning players to RIFT.

    btw at least at those few high populated servers, you can see how great this game is, when there are many ppl in the open world. it really rocks
