Or does this game have amazing looking character models? I mean, they are realistic but stylized and interesting. Have to be honest I am not normally a fan of post apocalyptic type games but this one has me rethinking that and where my 15 bucks a month I allow for subscription fees will go.

The chars don't look that real to me honestly, but the detail and the way you can wear items is awesome.  Seeing as how this is alpha pretty much, I am sure the graphics will be fine-tuned and even better in the next year or so.

The faces look more realistic than any other MMO on the market in my opinion. The female's face in particular is actually pretty attractive, so a thumbs up there ::::28::

EQ2 is the only other contender when it comes to realism, and they look too much like shiny Poser models. My only worry with FE is that we won't have a ton of faces to choose from. Each character from the current screenshots looks very customized when it comes to hair and tattoos, but the basic face underneath looks the same. It would be nice if there are facial expressions as well.. always seeing the same dull look on everyones face tends to get old.

    I definitely agree.

Facial expressions based on mood would be nice. Maybe there could be several faces, bodies, etc.. available to each of the different races/factions. Which isn't saying much, but it could help if they don't employ a skeleton/facial morphing character creation system like SWG.

A multitude of hairstyles could also help us look different as well. Which I hope they have. I'm tired of having the same hairstyle as everyone else too. hehe image

Well if they have been looking at lip synch and such for chatting and the voice acting, I dont see any reason why the same systems couldn't be manipulated for moods and emotes!

I am hoping that the uniquness, individuality and customisation in this game will be immense and will therfore attract alot of the "minority/non-hardocre" player types!

I hope they feature a ton of animated emotes as well. That is the one thing I think most MMPORG's miss on: giving players a plethora of emotes to use. (though I think SWG and EQ2 made a good showing of it)

    The more the merrier!

Yes, the actual models themselves are what I find impressive, not the facial features (which are still respectable). For a game that's in alpha, it looks pretty good.

    Thornwolf,

No, it's not just you.. I'm having a Hell of time trying to come up with something that might be negative about this game so far.  I'm loving this game more and more all the time.

Damn, this is going to wind up in a restraining order, just like my last game...image

i agree.. i think they look good.. I hope they look good from a distance too since that's how you end up seeing most people.. this can be accomplished most probably by a nice contrast of short and tall people.. fat and skinny people.. and how you can develop muscles in different spots.. or.. maybe you character should change as you play??

Nice idea. Your character could start out as untrained coach potato and grow into a wiry veteran with some scars. It would, however, also be a good deal of extra programming work.
As a developer I would not bother with these details unless I had a WOW-like budget.

Yeah, not that it isn't a good idea.  I just don't want to play Sims on-line and have to spend hours at a benchpress to make myself look as sexy as I do in real life.  /flex  image
