I have been playing mmorpgs for a very long time. As of late I keep asking myself why do I return to both Everquest and Eve! Throughout the years it seems I cannot stay away. I have to admit both EQ and EVE are steep on the learning curve. It takes much to play and develop a character in either. Probably more so than any other mmorpg out on the market today.
Now it seems every new mmorpg that comes out I give a try. I may play for a couple of months but then return to my old standbys. The longest other mmo I played besides EQ was WOW for 2.5 years. Then it got extremely boring. But it seems in both EQ and EVE I never can cap out, get bored, and always seem to have something to do.
Do you have a mmorpg you always return to? Why do you believe you keep returning?

EVE for me as well. Mostly I suspect because I am well established there.
LotRO as well. I always go back to it. It's just very familiar and works against EVE burn out.
I found I was getting in to a similar habit with FF14. I don't know if ARR will make or break that, won't until it goes live. I keep seeing beta footage for ArcheAge and Black Desert trailers look amazing but those for now are just future distractions from the EVE/ LotRO stronghold.
I will never support freeloaders, no more subsidized gaming.
