Game fails even harder, did not think it was possible.

Well I was going to give it a open beta chance but..... I am not downloading the damn game again, because these people are to stupid to just patch the closed beta to open beta. I put all the files in the open beta install program, and when the patcher did work it was downloading the whole game. Then i tried to reinstall it just to see if maybe that would work, and when i went to try and download the game it said we are sorry, we are having a communication error, please try again later. FAIL FAIL AND MORE FAIL. If they were planing on making every one redownload the freaking game, they should of made a download link, instead of having every one try and download it right now. I swear these people are dumb as rocks. But that is it for me, i am not even seeing if they fixed any of the bugs, which i seriously doubt any ways.

By the sound of it you're having install issues under a BETA period. Have you looked on their forums or beta section to see if they have an issue with this? It's more or less crying over spilled milk from what I read from your posts. Every BETA has its issues. I have not tried this game yet but I rarely play BETA anymore.

use windows much. all you had to do was restart your PC, then go back and delete the folders.

installing it was a breeze for me. Sorry to hear about your issues. I'm pretty sure not everyone had your experience.

Sony always owned EQ1. Verant Interactive was merely a subgroup of Sony Interactive Studios. They did become their own company after the release of EQ1, but the game was already Sony's property. Sony then bought out VI in 2000.
As strange as Brad McQuaid can be, he really is the heart of the original EQ and Vanguard and the genius that made them better than most of the mindless MMOs. The problem is that he's flakey and extremely bad on the business side of things and has a terrible reputation for being combative with both whining customers and constructive critics.

Did you even play star wars? It wasnt just a sony decision, that goes all the way up to Lucas Arts and what they wanted star wars online to be. They got greedy, wanted WoW level success and wanted to push Jedi on players as its easier for them to sell their action figures and other toys. Because of how the management was laid out, the movie execs ended up overseeing SOE...and if theres one thing I can tell you about movie execs is that they specialize is messing things up. Doesnt matter where they are, they want to hollywoodize everything, and that usually translates to making something worse.
Sony isnt really that bad when it comes to their online game division, much less any division. Any hate you have towards sony is fairly unjustified and over exaggerated in the most irrational fashion.
Chances are your Bravia will last longer than your other hardware as well. They build solid TVs, and while I own one but think Samsung is better, Sony quality is still pretty consistent in that arena.
So stop over exaggerating.
In the case of Dragon Prophet, Sony is just the distributor for this region and they have very little to do with the apparent development of the third party taiwanese game.

You didn't follow their instructions for uninstalling the beta client and it's their fault you are having issues?
Yea it sucks that you have to redownload the game and it is annoying that they have the tech with EQ2 to support streaming downloads but never implemented in most of their other games but don't blame SOE for your mistake.
haha, what does my health have to do with getting pissed at sony. Getting pissed can be refreshing some times. Effecting my health though, all signs point to no on that. Maybe some long term thing i might be unaware of, but saying getting raged at sony is going to cause me health problems well i dont know about all that. I still think i have a right to be pissed at sony.
I bought a ps3, and a vita, because they told me i could play my ps3 games on the vita. Then they tell me they changed their mind, and it cant be done that way. Then some one hacks it and makes bf3 play on the vita. Then sony tells me if i want to play ps3 games on my vita. What i have to do is buy the game on the vita, and the ps3 for over 100 dollars, and its not really the same game with streaming, its just swapping saved files.
Yes i played SWG, I was to the point in the jedi quest with my idiothriona(which i have no idea how to spell) The big eye trucked beast, that loves nature and has 2 mouths, where if memory serves that you have to wait every 2 weeks to do the mission. Which i believe was on that d planet. What ever it is after you get all the theme parks done, and were on to the timed part, that you cant speed up no matter what. I found out they were changing it and sold my account to some one on ebay, before they changed it. And got my ebay account banned lol, but i got it sold.
Then we got vanguard saga of heros, which has almost no one playing now. Not because it doesnt have great crafting, and cool leveling, and good graphics. With fun grouping and a nice story driven fun card game. It doesnt have any one their because they thought it was cool to try and push unfinished junk on people. I didnt know sony always owned eq, so i take that back. I played and liked eq all the way up to the gates of discord. Then i quit, and went to eq2 which i played alot. But no after all those lies, and games that are crap on release no more. If it has a sony name its not for me.
As far as my error, i dont know what your talking about. I didnt really have any errors, other then the uninstall file not being able to be deleted. As far as you saying run it as a admin lol, well i told you i dont have that crap on my pc. You can shut it off, and if you dont know how then it doesnt matter to you anyways. It was installing for me, it was just re downloading the whole game. Which i didnt want to do, i thought it was gonna be like a 200 mb patch or something like that. I had no intentions of playing the game at all, after they went open beta. With all the bugs it had, such as swimming up water falls, and shooting mobs that cant go into the water. To the animations on the creation creation skipping all over. To the clunky fighting. That was just all the bugs i found in 5 mins. I left because i was under the impression it was gonna come out at christmas. I was planning on buying the 90ish dollar package. Then 2 days later some one says nope, open beta time. O yeah not to mention it takes a super computer to play this on high, but has terrible graphics.
To be honest, its the community that plays this game fault. When i was in it for my 5 mins, all i heard from people is i cant wait to give all my money to sony, so i can have 3 dragon slots. Over and over and over. So i am sure they were like forget trying to make the game polished, these guys are willing to give us their money now. They made a killing I am sure, with sonys big name, and runes of magic being popular.
As for me I am not going to invest money and time into a game, that is gonna be vanguard in a couple of months. When I can invest in Elder Scrolls online, or re population. Which never lied to me. They said skyrim was gonna be fun, and so it was. Same with with all their games. Yes i know they are the ones making ESO, but I never even heard of the company that is, so they havent lied to me yet.
Maybe i did get to pissed, and I maybe the only one that hates sony with a passion, but whatever sony isnt going to care in the slightest. As far as getting pissed at some one for ruining a video game. Well i dont agree with you saying its just a video game. This happens to be what i love doing. Sense UO came out , so i do take it seriously and get my emotions involved and out of control some times lol. You think i am bad, go watch a stupid foot ball game, those people go insane. Or any sports game. So what ever, lol you find my rage agaisnt sony bad. But some retards paint thier balls green in a line with Green Day Packers, and get into a argument for 12 hours about who won game of ball grab, thats fine.

They specifically told everyone they would have to re-download and not use the old assets. How is that a fail? The game build is significantly different to the closed beta (much more polished and all graphics options activated).
It isn't even that big a download (9 gigs).
This is why I always said people don't give Smed enough credit for bringing the whole original EverQuest project together. With Brad working on EQNext supposedly, I'm very curious to see if they can make magic again.
Whenever I see an anti-Sony rant I always wait to see if the OP comes out as one of the group who will nitpick absolutely any reason to blast SOE on the forums because they are still mad about Star Wars Galaxies nearly a decade later.
