Aion, and PvE

OoroborosOoroboros Member Posts: 12
Hi there, some friends recently recommended that I try out Aion. It looks like its a pretty great game, but I've heard that its mostly PvP oriented. I like PvP but its not my absolute favorite thing to do in a game. So my question is whats the endgame PvE like in Aion?

personally, I find Aion to be great in both the pvp and pve division. You can easily PVE your way up to max level and from there, just do pve end game stuff if you wish to do so. Aion used to be more pvp oriented than it is now, but after update after update, it seems to be more pve oriented as it is now. You can move between rookie server and normal server, where rookie server gives you more xp (if I remember correctly) and you'll be safe from ganking.

    It's not mostly pvp oriented.

However, there is a bit of a blur between that pvp/pve balance and pvp players will find that they have to pve and pve player might find that pvp can affect them.

there is a system where the enemy can use a portal to come into your area. There have been some changes since when I played more seriously but you can be leveling and suddenly see the enemy coming at you.

Now, there is a "fast track" server where this feature is turned off but that server only allows you to level to 50.

Additionally, there are areas where the enemy can't port into.

I'm not sure what the changes to "rifting" (enemy porting to your space) have been. Additionally, there is an area called the abyss where both you and the enemy cohabitated and there is conflict there.

I would download the game (it's f2p) and get on a fast track server and see for yourself. Also, if you aren't really interested in pvp then you losing "abyss points" won't matter much if you get killed by a player.
