I have all-access because I play PS2 and EQ2 and I don't see any benefits in Dragon Prophet at all.  This seems to be a true F2P game with no sub option at all, a first for SOE and not a direction I am happy to see them going.

RadarX posted in a thread, there is no benefits from the Station Pass.  Some people asked for a sub option, but he said there is no intention of offering one.  Makes me wonder how EQN is going to work.

I really hate to say this because I don't like to wish ill to anyones favorite game but a part of me hopes this experiment in true F2P that SOE is conducting fails so they are not tempted to repeat it with EQN.  I would much prefer a EQ2, DCUO or even PS2 model over true F2P.

Ummmm how was PS2 not true F2P?

EQNext will have this type of cash shop model. Its a no brainer.

PS2 has big cert gain bonuses for subbing to the point where grinding for weapons does not feel bad at all.  Dragon Prophet doesn't have a sub option to soften the cash shop it's pure 100% F2P with all that brings.  This is SOE's first 100% pure F2P game and as such I see it as a experiment comparing the two models.  Since I would prefer EQN to have a sub option ala EQ2 that lets you pretty much ignore the cash shop I can't help but hope the experiment fails.

Not to say the game has to fail just the business model for SOE.  If they added a sub option down the road to Dragon Prophet that made it so I don't even have to think about the cash shops existence I would be all over that.  I play EQ2 20+ hours a week and I can't tell you the last time I opened the Marketplace (cash shop) window.

this game is sooo bad im at a loss of words. seriously. Did dragon prophet time travelled 10years into the future? I wouldnt touch this game even if SOE pay me to play.

Lag/long animations make the combat not fluid at all(at least on my mage(sorc or whatever it's called).  The only interesting thing the game seems to offer is the dragon capturing stuff.  And, from what I can tell almost everything is character instead of account upgrades in the cash shop which in long run means a lot money for most people.

Oh! And the tutorial was joke.  I think I have more fun on ragnarok 2 no matter how hard that is to believe.  It's mainly due to the combat lag and the weird thing s(like why do I have to re-summon my dragon after I dismount?).

I must agree that the tutorial is the worst I've seen in any game.  Honestly, just skip it - you'll miss nothing.

They sold pre order packs with a house that you won't be able to use for a long time because of the prices of the plots you have to buy to put your house on. Then there is the daily rent on the plot that is way too high. If you don't pay the rent you lose the plot. So you would need to buy another high priced plot whenever you get enough money.

Taming dragons is cool but gets old real fast.

The game is very linear, one road in each zone you go down has you level up. Once you finish that zone you go to the next, where there is one road to follow to grind quests/mobs to level up. Very high mob density in all zones. No exploration at all.

PvP is in the housing zones so that's where you'll be getting ganked on the way to or from your house that you will probably never be able to afford anyway.

I regret buying the $29 pack that i brought if i had have just tryed it free to play i would have shrugged my shoulders and said it was ok if you like that style of gameplay/graphics etc but i personally just lit $29 dollars on fire, i have no interest in it after 30 mins of gameplay.

You've mentioned that in several threads so I'd like to point out that you can obtain them by playing the game.

    • Repair Hammers and Protective Agents are also in the Dragon Insignia Market, a market that accepts the currency from daily quests.
    • You get repair hammers automatically from completing both Daily and Monthly Achievements. Daily gives you a one piece hammer, and Monthly gives you a 7-day Advanced Repair Hammer.

There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

If you take out the fact that graphic wise is very poor optimized, landscape unfinished or glitched, sound is so basic it is like playing  a game with 15 years, have a cash shop build for rich people, most of the stuff is character bound, if you want inventory space or rez at spot you have to pay, if you want a plot of land you pay a ridiculous amount of ingame money plus taxes, the people who got founders packs cant use their houses cause they have to buy the plots, questing is very basic with one road from area to area, kill x mobs then go back to same area and kill same mob again for other quest, combat wise despite looking interesting system all the gameplay around it makes it boring and dull (crap sound, crap animations, the fact that graphic wise is so poor optimized most of mobs will glide instead of walking for example), the game have some potential.

It's not a bad idea behind it, the concept is interesting, but the game for me is at best fresh out of alpha stage, considering and looking for the current F2P competition, these guys have a ton of work ahead, but my faith is thin these days.

i am downloading it now. I've read mixed reviews but I prefer to try it out myeslf. It is free to play so why not!

if the game allows you to live off crafting and housing (non combat) i'll stay. I am just really tired of the same ol end game stuff so if end game allows me to just live a social life in an mmo by providing wares and services then it'll be great.

If not i'll just uninstall and wait on wildstar.

Just a couple words of caution.

If you want to get into crafting you will have to buy bag/bank slots. Trying to craft without paying for more would a serious headache.

It also seems like housing is out of the reach of most ordinary players. The prices are insane.

So if you are playing this game for just those reasons you might be disappointed.

thank you for the heads up. I'll give it a try and see how it goes still though. The download rate not too good atm a bit less than 1 mb/s.
