The meta game pvp is a joke! 2 clerics with astral shields and you will never lose even with rogue/wizards stunlocks.

Im a cleric and its no fun at all just using one button to win. If they dont change this fast me and my guild will leave the game.

I do not understand how you can talk about pvp and not mentioning how overpowering runes are, which require the cash shop.

I am extremely disappointed that PW has ruined Neverwinter with the predatory cash shop.   Gushing about this game is flat outright dumb.  It is a typical PW money sink with no end in sight.

This is my number one worst MMO of the year by a huge margin!

I, personally, believe that respecs are TOO cheap at $6. They need to be ~$20.

When the price is this high, then people will do the right thing, and level up an alt, with a more optimized build. A 'respec' is an easy out, and allows players to get what they want without actually playing the game.

I heard something about end-game enchants, which you either have to farm ~7 months or pay $160 to get. That certainly doesn't seem fair from a p2w perspective. I still have my doubts about this game. Hmm.

Been 60 for nearly 2 weeks now. The game at 60+ is "Pay To Win".

So many complaints about an open beta launch. I think the game is perfect, besides a few small details. and they have been fixing bugs and class glitches like crazy to make it a balanced game and people still complain. if you can afford the zen store get a job! sheesh.

I guess on that note, yes the prices are high for the Mounts, but if they were 15$, everyone would have them and they wouldn't be "Epic".

How can any mount be epic if you can just get it from the store?

Neverwinter is kinda fun to play indeed, but the game is SO FREAKING PAY TO WIN AT ENDGAME... I mean it!!! I don't mind spending money on games, but the way they do things is outrageous... Mark my word if you want to play this game: It's the good ol' bait-and-switch trick!!!

Its p2w....they sell these 100% success wards that you can use to fuse super rare purple enchants and without it you get a whopping 1%. If thats not pay to win idk what is.

    1. Agreed there is too many currencies and not enough being done with gold/silver/copper.

    2.  AD is hard to get unless you exploit like many have done.  It's sad some people that havent put a penny in the game are fully geared and have over 4mill AD to play with though some are enjoying a ban now. also AD and all currency should be tradable between your alts or even with other people excepting maybe glory points.

    3. The cash shop is over priced on some items, make the mount cost 50% less but be per character rather than account wide. AT end game the enchantment runes will screw you over, they go to rank 10 yet no rank 10 drops you have to make em so get out your wallet, you will need the cash shop to do it. You can see this in the game files yourself  or look here .  AYe respec should not be in the cash shop.

    3. PvP truth is this game should have neverhad pvp. Btw you CAN avoid rogue attacks rather easily and GF is not OP lol.  Plain facts is TR is the ONLY striker class in the game and as such SHOULD rule in one vs one pvp.  Also the scaling doesn't work well at all.

PvP is going to screw over pve in this game with all the "balance" issues it entails. DnD pve is about imbalance.

    4. You mention chat but can only say its annoying in PVP ? lol How about general zone chat? They need to add a premade trade tab and maybe even fix the dang grouping system because as it is now it sucks badly.  DDO's grouping system far outshines this buggy crap we have in Neverwinter.

Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.

Astral Diamonds are an extremely useful currency for players. We see the earning of Rough Astral Diamonds as a currency very much tied to the achievements of a single character.

So what are they going to do now that apparently earning AD through achievements is a total farse?

Being open beta, this is our (the players’) chance to influence the final release of the game. Constructive criticism is always a good thing in any game and Cryptic has shown willingness to listen to its community.

Oh, it is open beta, so they can just wipe right? Oh wait they said there would be no wipes and have been taking people's money - hmm maybe not open beta and maybe no criticisms accepted nor any care for community input.

I have to wonder how different your article would be today.

Just imagine those who actually spent $200 for the founders pack and found out that as large as that number of astral diamonds sounded it was essentially worthless in a hyper-inflationary economy.

I will be really interested to see how the massive duping problems are mentioned in "Open Beta Diary #4". Assuming it is mentioned at all, very few negative things seem to be.

I played this game and it's a lot of fun.

I had high hopes for this game, after leveling 3 characters to 60 and spending much time PVPing  & hitting epic dungeons.

Too bad there is so much lacking in this Title - it's just sad - I had fun going through the leveling process, but lack of content at end-game & bugs/bad design for PVP just doesn't match my hopes for the title. And if you're a NWN fan-bio from Bioware days, you'll be disappointed.

When all is said and done - the BETA tag just allows them to make some short-term profit off a game that doesn't have lasting content/design - it also gives them an out if something like the Caturday debacle occurs, which BTW - the exploit had been reported since Closed BETA and was never addressed

Why are you blaming Cryptic? They are just PWI's whipping boy. You should put the blame where it belongs, directly on Perfect World. I almost did not even consider NW when I saw it involved PWI. But its all 'free' so I gave it a go just for the Foundry, which turns out to be a POS.

This was kind of the straw that broke the camels back for me. I was willing to ignore the cash shop and it's incredibly overpriced crap, but the fact that they knowingly allowed this into PvP and basically made it completely pointless to participate unless you're some credit card warrior made me just put off the game entirely. PW/Cryptic have always had really crappy pasts with the F2P model, particularly PW who have done some really sleezy things in the past. Looks like it's more of the same, and it's a damn shame considering the core game itself and Foundry are fantastic, but I don't even want to play the game as a free player and contribute to the success of something this exploitative.
