Looking for a game to play!

EvaidaEvaida Member Posts: 13

Hello all,

I have been blighted lately by my inability to find a game that will last me anymore than a day or two at best. I just keep going back to playing Civilisation V and MTGO (Magic: The Gathering) - and both of these games are a little dull after a million hours of play. The thing is I don't really keep up to date with all the new games so I don't really know where to look outside of Steam.

So, I'm really looking for advice on a few games to try.

The games I like are generally either MMOs or Strategy games. I have played WOW to death for many years, and have tried all of the hot new MMOs that have tried to unseat it (Aion, Conan, WAR, Rift, SWTOR) but didn't stick around past the first month. I've also recently tried:

Sim City - Didnt play it after the first night. What a disappointment :(. The game hasn't come on much since I played it on the Spectrum 48k 20+ years ago.

Diablo 3 - Boring repetitive grind. Didn't play it after first day of teleporting back and forth to sell loot.

Darkfall UHW - Now I quite liked this for a couple of weeks, but I quickly tired of venturing out and getting gang raped - all just to do a bit of mining. Plus the general chat channel is the worst I have ever seen in any game. A horde of geeks thinking they have net cred just because they play a game that is more punishing than wow when you die. Horrible!

I'm really looking for an MMO that doesn't require serious PC power or a really long lasting in-depth strategy game with similar characteristics to Civilisation. I quite liked EVE and its the only MMO aside from WOW that I have played for over a month. Tried Plantside 2 and Neverwinter, but my PC just can't cope. I loved Homeworld years ago and would be open to a similar type game. Oh, and I'm not really into console type games at all!

So I would really appreciate some suggestions.

Thanks so much in advance! Fingers crossed

Try Final Fantasy XI? Old MMO, but just had a new expansion. Great game with a wonderful community that is very helpful and mature.

Help get Camelot Unchained made, a old-school MMORPG, with no hand holding!

It's a life-changing experience, at least for me. I've not met more helpful people online, anywhere. I've asked random people walking by for help and they stayed 4 hours, even though I kept messing up, and they just laughed about it, saying how hard it was for them.

IT's a game that forces people to work together...therefore the community came together. PEople share gear, money, ect. It's such an incredible game, I made friends I will never forget, as well as experiences.
