Solo-style player looking for game

If anyone knows of a good game for soloing please let me know. I've played WoW and find it unfulfilling, I've also played Guild Wars and find it mostly PvP or GvG oriented, especially since there is sucha lack of different armors and "original" weapons. I've heard EQII is good. WHat do you think? If there are any others please let me know. Thanks all.

since you have already played WOW I would think that EQ2 is your best choice, at least for a while until the next round of games come along.

Witty saying to amuse you goes here.

if you find wow unfulfilling then you'll find EQ2 is even worse. at least WoW's quests make you feel like you are doing something. EQ2's quests just feel like chores, and they're all the same.

wow and gw are the 2 best games out there for soloing hehe if you don't like those then maybe you should try a different genre of video games.

I disagree that GW is one of the best games for soloing. I played as a N/W up to LVL 20 and I found that after about LVL 13-15 nearly all of the quests had to be completed with a group. And while playing WoW I had an undead Mage that was LVL 36 and I was kept away from the game for 4 weeks while I was on vacation in Europe and could never get back into it, so I guess I shouldn't say its unfulfilling, it just couldn't keep my interest.

I'm interested in EQII right now. I've heard good things about its Solo play but I have also heard a lot of bad reviews. Can anyone tell me if its any good, and if not, what are the main problems with it.

Also are there any good solo-friendly MMORPG's coming out in the next 3-6 months.

    Thanks for your replies everyone.

Why would you bother paying a monthly fee on a MMOG if you rather solo? I think your best bet are on Dungeon Siege II and Fable. Or you can buy a PS2 and play any of its inumerous single player RPGs. ::::39::

Is Dungeon Siege II compatible for Mac?

Wait, you're asking for a MMO and you have a mac, I'm pretty sure WoW is the only real solo friendly MMO for mac, if there is even any more MMO's for mac. EQ2 is pc only last I checked, so are most other MMO's

    I don't think so...
EQ1 has a Mac version. Don't know if it is solo friendly though. Unfortunatly when it comes to games, a Mac doesn't offer you many choices.

If I hadn't just recently gone back and seen it for myself I never would have beleived this myself:

Dark Age of Camelot has been the best solo play experience of any MMORPG I've tried. And I've played every one mentioned in this thread. DAoC literally beats the pants off all of them.

Played it a long time ago when the level grind was horrid and many classes just flat out couldn't solo.... boy am I glad that SWG got screwed up enough to make me give DAOC another try. It has changed SOOOO much and yet stayed the same over the years. All the fun I remember is still there but now most of the grind is gone and the fun is even better and the quests are better....

Can't go on enough... for PVE the solo play is fantastic. For RVR if you choose certain classes you can solo pretty effectively there as well (at least in the BG's)

Currently Playing: Dungeons and Dragons Online.

I wouldn't play EQ2 at all!!! This game is not "solo" orientated by any means. If anything you have to group most of the time just to stay alive in mob situations. Don't waste your time and money if you desire  a SOLO "play-style." I played EQ2 for about 5 months with a "solo" attitude and found it quite hard. One of the main reasons I quit. On the positive side the new up-coming game....Age of Conan MMORPG will start as a solo game (hybrid solo/group based game) up till level 20, then turn into a full fledged online MMO. To be honest i'd say that most online games are designed around the "group-based" theory of gaming. But that can be argued too.

I second Asheron's Call 1, great for solo play.
