Simple as that,
i feel settler is the path that had been thoroughly explained on having its own benefit . Settler able to form up camp that gives buffs or they can make a fast travel station (or so i've heard),. It simply helps players with their experience, it gives them a direct advantage by being a settler. You definitely benefit having buffs and u can be sure that you have an easier time having a fast travel.
Explorer has this jumping platform task which gives random loot once you reach the goal and unlocking secret path for quick travel .
So what do the other 2 have? So far as i gathered, soldiers only summon up a huge totem that they have to defend against horde of mobs, i dont find any benefit being a soldier other than killing moar
Scientist? You scan on that rare plants or fauna , then what? random loot for completion ?

Every path has path levels, when you hit certain levels you unlock new abilities, mounts, titles, cosmetic armor, and housing items.
Every path has a few unique abilities associated with that path. These abilities don't count as the standard set of class abilities you have, those are your class abilities.
Every path has unique quests associated with the path. Just like the Explorer is rewarded for completing jumping puzzles and doing their path quests, the Soldier is rewarded for for doing their path quests too. The Soldier in particular can create dynamic events in certain areas and the Scientist like the Explorer can unlock new areas. For the most part, yes, the Soldier is about killing more so only pick it if you like combat.
Scientist quests are not just centered around collecting, they also have puzzles (not jumping puzzles like the Explorer) quests too. In fact all paths have different variations of quests.
Pick paths based on the following:
Soldier - If you primarily only want combat and don't want to be bothered with puzzle solving or heavy social elements.
Scientist - Pick if you like collecting (good for Achiever bartle types), puzzling solving, and lore/story elements.
Settler - Social path with some sandbox elements. Pick this if you like interacting with other people.
Explorer - Great if you fit the Explorer bartle type, pick this if you like exploring the world, doing jumping puzzles, and treasure hunting.
This a bit new to me or something that i missed out completely , but the thing i'm looking for is not the reward itself but the perks of becoming a certain paths. Maybe this unique abilities thing is the the answer to my question , but apparently i'm digging way too deep . So much questions.............. so thick NDA
Ah, this is what you're looking for then... http://www.wildstar-central.com/index.php?threads/explorer-and-soldier-path-unlocks-by-level-pax-east-2013-build.1940/
It is from an older build, but it gives a better idea of what 2 paths may unlock, one being the soldier. Has abilities like Summon Reinforcements.
Somebody, somewhere has better skills as you have, more experience as you have, is smarter than you, has more friends as you do and can stay online longer. Just pray he's not out to get you.
Each character chooses 1 path. The feel I got from the interviews is the path is almost as important as the class itself, so may not be able to change path once chosen.
You .......i....... God, i wanna hug u.
They've confirmed for launch its one path per character. They say they may look into the future on the ability to switch paths, but since its a huge part of the leveling process I assume that its meant to encourage alting. Sorry for no link, I remember seeing it in one of the recent youtube interviews.
ok just so you guys know! you get one path! but the paths cross each other
ex. your a scientist and in a group with an explorer and a settler, and while traveling around the explorer finds a underground tunnel so all 3 of you go into it and while exploring the underground tunnel you come across a secret door that requires you to solve a puzzle to get into, which is were the scientist comes in and then after the door opens you go into a room and the find that this computer is broken or something and the settler can fix it giving you loot or something.
sorry about grammar
